WIW: 5 minutes and a turban - YouLookFab Forum

Not sure what to call this outfit... French Urban? I put it together in 5 minutes because I was late for work. Or the super-awesome clearance outfit. Nearly every piece was bought on sale or clearance. True story.

I'm getting a hair cut -- my first since October! -- and didn't want to wash my dirty hair when my stylist will wash it tonight.

So out came my headscarf turban! I do love turbans. I prefer to wear them with my hair down. But dirty hair needs to be tied UP.

The t-shirt is a scoop neck heather blue -- a pretty blue, I think. Not too "denim" blue. It has a hint of violet in it maybe? The graphic text reads "Weekend Dreamer" in pale pink. Le sigh... so appropriate for a Wednesday

My beloved ruffled jacket... It's Elle from Kohl's. It's a size too large post weight-loss and is showing wear. But it hasn't fallen apart, save the hem on right arm which has come undone.

Jeans: OldNavy Sweetheart Skinny

Jacket: Elle from Kohl's
Booties: Target
Cocktail ring (also pale pink!)
Makeup: wash of foundation and then Revlon Berry Allure lipgloss on cheeks and lips.

I don't like the jeans cuffed on me... definitely makes me look kinda thick in the thighs? So I uncuffed them after I snapped these photos.

This is one of those outfits that, while not the more glamorous side I've been leaning towards lately, I couldn't have purposely tried to put together if I tried! The cocktail ring echoes the pink graphic in the tee. The boots and jacket echo my hair. I think this proves to me a lot about knowing silhouettes, and also being able to pair nearly items in my closet together and have it look good. It's good not to have orphans, and to love every piece purchased. A high-happiness factor for me!

What fun...I love your outfit and the turban...You have a style thing going on here that is different from your super dressy hey Rita let's talk one of Sunday...I love the bookend boots and jacket with your winter coloring...All in all, you are doing Ms. Millie proud..smile and hugs to you...

It's a chic, relaxed look. I love that ruffled jacket over the tee. The jeans look good rolled--they are very low contrast with the boots. I bet they looked sleek down, too.

I loathe turbans (born in the fifties) and you made this look like a funky, happy thing rather than a wizened glamour thing accessorized by a smelly cigarette :-). I had that nightmare aunt....
And love the casual everything, which somehow works, I am thinking confidence and a sense of humour is very fashionable. And seductive.

I like how the turban adds a playful, glamorous touch. And it's practical too. ;D I like the cuff on the jeans, and it didn't make me look more at your thighs, for what that's worth.

trekkiegirl, oh do wear yours! I say bring back turbans! I've been wearing them a lot since last year. My haircut...I feel like Farrah Fawcett (Not saying I look like her ha!) I'll post photos soon! I got a blowout, so I not any curly photos until I wash it and let it dry.

Firecracker, thank you! I forgot my jacket has ruffles. (oops!) Jeans looked sleeker to my eye unrolled and left down. BUT since the boots are low contrast, it doesn't look as bad as I first thought.

Olivegreen, you made me smile! Thank you! I am laughing as I envision a Cruella-type woman, in a turban with said cigarette and severe pucker lines around her mouth and eyes! I can see why you took a dislike to turbans (I hope you take it as me laughing with you, because I'm not laughing at you.) I have always had a thing for vintage. But I didn't grow up in that era, and sometimes they do look to costumed, and a bit stiff or severe. But turbans feel so fun to me, I can't help but wear them a lot! I am grateful for your very kind compliments <3 I was feeling pretty happy yesterday, and very "French" after I got dressed -- kind of that, I'm dressed, content, and I don't care, just being me. (Perhaps that is why the French women are so seductive and attractive? They try but don't try -- or at least they don't try too hard?)

E, oh so glad the cuffs aren't thigh thickening or grabbing attention to my thighs. I get a little worried about that, since I don't have the ultra sleek thighs with 5 inches of thigh gap. Glad the turban was a good addition! I love them! Maybe I need to start a fashion blog... a girl and her turban!
