WIW 4/8: Cobalt and gray

Somebody asked me the other day if I'd tried cobalt with gray, and I hadn't, but I have now and I love it!

Gray wide-leg pants: YLF swap
Gray tee: Danskin
Gray plaid scarf: souvenir of Cambodia
Gray blazer: Eliza J
Silver pumps: Calvin Klein
Cobalt satchel: B Makowsky
Gray belt: Target

You can't really see it in the photos, but I love the shiny silver pointy-toed shoes peeking out from the wide pants!

This is my new MaryK favorite! Your legs do look a mile long, I love the gray shades topped off by the scarf and they combine beautifully with the cobalt jacket and bag. I'll have to try this.

Love the wide leg pants and cobalt & grey work perfectly. Having just read Angie's latest blog post I wonder how this would look without the scarf or maybe with the scarf tied in a different way to elongate your neck which I think would take the perfection of this outfit one step further. Anyway with or without the scarf you look fab.

You mention the "perfect tee!" I love how you again have taken a staple and turned it into an amazing outfit. What, in your opinion, constitutes perfection in this garment? Where do you find, as a petite woman, tees that tick all of the necessary boxes???

Marj, to me this tee is perfect because it is a great substantial fabric (with a very high spandex or other stretchy element -- it was originally part of a yoga/dance set that included pants), the sleeves are the perfect length and shape (I tend to have trouble with sleeves on tees being unflattering invarious ways), the neckline is perfect, it's body-hugging but not too tight, and the length is just right to stay tucked. Where did I find it? In the back of my closet where it's been buried since college.

YES! Those wide leg trousers are amazing! I totally want a twin pair. Highfive to fellow wide leg wearing petite! The silver shoes are a great touch. What's the material of the pants? They look heavier to me, so this is reading a bit as a fall outfit.

Aida, the pants are a very lightweight woven so I feel like they're plenty springy. I actually don't wear them much in fall/winter because I feel like they're too lightweight! And the scarf is super lightweight, too, BTW.

It's funny how the photos never tell the whole story, isn't it?

The pants are elegant and dramatic - I was struck how the line of the pants and your power pose echo the eiffel tower print behind you. I like the cobalt and grey combination, and the tee looks perfectly polished on it's own, too!
