I am involved in a nonprofit that puts together a big design showcase house and raises about a million dollars a year for music and music education in our community:

Pasadena Showcase House for the Arts The house is going to open in al few weeks and yesterday I did a shift "pre-staffing," which means I sat on the front porch and checked everybody in and out and tried to make sure nobody parked where they weren't supposed to.

I busted out my new Issye Miyake handbag for the first time and that was fun -- in the evening I went to choir practice and there was a woman there with an Issye Miyake tote bag in different colors but the same fun geometric construction, and we got to bond over our trips to Japan!
