WIW 4/5 and 4/7: My Custo Barcelona homage and Date Day

1. Thursday I broke out my new skirt and decided to take a stab at Angie's Custo Barcelona formula from a couple of weeks ago. I think this looked better in person than it photographed, because the scarf and skirt were closer in color IRL -- I think the camera is seeing the difference in texure as a color difference, if that makes sense!

2. Today hubby and I went to the theatre to see "Waiting for Godot" (class and culture and HUGELY entertaining!), and also to lunch before and dinner after! Big fun! He bought me these shoes and I love them to distraction! And they look great with the dotted bag from the YLF store!

Oh, I knew I should not have clicked on that first picture, because I've been ogling the skirt in that color and now I REALLY want it. LOVE how you paired it with the dotty scarf!

The navy and green combination is flattering and vibrant. This is my 16th month on YLF and even though I don't need one, I feel like I must have a Halogen pencil skirt for myself. They look so good on so many different ladies.

I would only be admiring those heels from afar (or from a bed if I attempted to walk in them) but so lovely with the two tone and detail on the heel. Hot date outfit!

Are you going to tailor your green skirt or keep it as is? I'm thinking about ordering a size up and having it taken in so that it sits higher on my waist and will come to my knee cap.

I missed the thread on this skirt, but it looks longer. Did you order a different size than usual? Love the outfit, very true to the inspiration. That dotty scarf is delicious! The second outfit is very subtle and sophisticated. I love the lace top and all of your accessories. Those high heels are the perfect way to rock those cropped pants. Very, very fab, MK!

WOW. I was hoping you would do a Custo inspired outfit, because that style is right up your alley! You are the master--sophisticated, colorful, and I love the rich textures. I never get tired of your Kate Spade jacket! And that emerald skirt is perfect on you--I love the midi length on you!

Yes, the skirt is regular size 2, not petite. And as I posted elsewhere, they seem to be making them smaller these days -- I bought the "blue spectrum" in my usual 0P and it was a full half inch narrower at the waist when laid flat against the older ones, so I had to send it back for the 2P, which is the same size as the 0P's in the other colors. Crazy. But the good news is the regular size 2 fits me now, whereas when I tried the regular sizes in other colors even the regular size 0 was too big. And this fab green doesn't come in petite sizes, so it worked out.

As I said, crazy...

That's good news though because now you might have more colors available for you than you did wearing petites. Strange though, I agree!
