Firecracker, thanks for remembering that Nic & Zoe moto jacket. It would definitely work with these jeans and pumps but maybe not with this blouse...that jacket is warmer tones while this blouse is cooler...but I'll try it out and see...
Muffin, the outfit was perfect for the event because I felt comfortable in it. It was a very small event with 45 or so men and only 3 women. Somewhat typical for events targeted at "IT" audiences (meaning Information Technology). I was much more stylishly dressed than either of the other two women but that was fine, pretty much the story of my professional life. The guys were all pretty casual with the occasional blazer............nothing interesting there.
The evening turned out to have two fashion connections....
1 - had a long talk with a women who works in the IT/Operational side of TJXX corporation. She was dressed very casually...like what most YLFers would consider wear-at-home style. (she does work at home part of the time) She was really surprised at how much I knew about their business model etc. Their HQ is in MA not far from where I live and I've been a fan most of my life. She said they are planning to expand in Canada (Winners) and Europe, an their online presence which is pretty new is doing very well.
2 - most of the presentations were boring and repeats of things I had heard many times before. So, I snuck some photos of the only woman
speaker, who was wearing a rather plain business outfit and some fascinating shoes. These black flats had really pointy toes, a kind of velvet texture on the vamp, and heel back that came way up onto the Achilles tendon area. (Not sure the pics do them justice).
I couldn't stop staring! Has anyone ever seen shoes like this before?
