WIW 4/27: Highly Experimental Proportions

It is very cool and overcast here today (low 50s) and likely to stay the same for the next 10 or so days. My feet are also killing me as I had a very intense dance practice last night and will have another one tonight. So, this morning I was in the mood to experiment with proportions inspired by the outfit I saw on Net-a-porter, and really comfy sneakers were the only possible shoe choice for today.
The outfit consists of sleeveless knitted tunic/vest layered over pinstripe tunic length shirt, with cropped flared navy pants and finished by white sneakers.
I am curious to hear what you think about this experiment, though I am guessing it will not be everyone's cup of tee. JFE or not? Interesting enough to compensate for the lack or conventionally flattering proportions or just a failed experiment?

Ooh, this is really cool looking, Tanya! I particularly like the asymmetrical style of your tunic; I prefer it to the inspiration one, which looks a little too much like a loincloth! I also LOVE the way the two hemlines play with each other and with the flare on the jeans on the shorter side. Such interesting lines.

Love it! I think the proportions are fun, and the skin helps balance nicely too. The hemlines are interesting, and you could also try tucking the blouse if you wanted a further streamlined look. Especially fond of the light footwear here. I'd say it's a very successful experiment! Hope your feet recover quickly

I love it! The proportions are fabulous, and that knitted tunic is the star of the show. As Diana says, this outfit has very interesting lines that reads as 'effortlessly chic'. Super cool outfit!

Angie, your pant length precision has rubbed on me too, I am constantly checking to make sure it is fine for every pair of pants I have. I have discovered this season that, with these new cropped lengths and my shorter legs, I get best results when ordering regular sized pants in short lengths. These BR pants are like that, regular 2S. They are actually even a tad shorter, but they relaxed with wear and are a bit lower on my hips then when I first put them on.
