WIW 4/26: Pinterest copycat with the color of the year

I was fresh out of inspiration today and Pinterest saved the day again! I bought this emerald skirt last year and imagine my delight when Pantone named emerald the color of the year for 2013!

Emerald skirt: Halogen
Leopard cardi: JC Penney
Black and white jacket: Kate Spade
Black leather flower brooch: From a blouse long gone
"Snake" pumps: Jessica Simpson
Burgundy "snake" clutch: Nine West
Black belt: From a dress long gone

What do you think? Did I manage to "officeify" this party look sufficiently?

Office ready as you can ever be and as it is now customary, better than the pinterest. Is the skirt new? The color is spectacular.

I really like the pattern mixing. I also would not have thought to mix green with leopard but it looks great!

Your version is much more sophisticated and interesting than your inspiration, IMO. I'd have wrinkled my nose at combining emerald green and red if anyone asked me earlier, but I've completely changed my mind now that I've seen your outfit. Green and red is a great combination in the hands of an expert!

Your interpretation is far better than the source. I especially like it without the jacket - so elegant. Dark grey and bright emerald is a delightful combo.

So, so fab! Yes, you do look better than the inspiration photo. I can't believe you even had the brooch. The skirt-blouse-jacket is just gorgeous, and the accessories really make the outfit come alive on you. The burgundy clutch is my favorite addition--scrumptious with the emerald.

Joy, the skirt was available briefly last year. I generally wear this skirt in a petite, but this color was never offered in petite and I bought it in the regular size because I was just that besotted by the color! It's a little longer than the petites, but I think it's an okay variation and a super acceptable trade-off to get the fab green!

OOoh! I love the jacket and blouse together!! The texture of the jacket works in such an interesting way with the pattern. And of course you look astonishing in that emerald green!

Not that I need another Halogen pencil skirt, but I'd have made room for this one. Emerald isn't so good next to my face but has looked so fresh and crisp on several YLFers this week.

All Hail Queen Better than the Inspiration! Amazing copy and you totally one-upped the Pinterest girl. Love the grey leopard with emerald green and that you managed to include three different animal prints into the mix without looking OTT. Stylish officewear! (And waving to green pencil skirt twin--I'll have to pull mine out soon!)

Kari, I am hanging in there. The Bachelorette Pad has shaped up nicely and I am starting to feel a little less disoriented every day. This week was, strangely enough, the toughest week yet but I feel like I may have turned the corner and am feeling better. I appreciate your kind thoughts!
