WIW 4/24 - Flares and Sneakers in Light Neutrals

I haven’t posted anything in ages. Life got busy It's finally starting to feel like spring most days so yesterday I tried this formula. These sneakers are brand new and at least for now are my version of “white sneakers". I think this fits #3 "Casual and Comfy" in Angie's blog post. I quite like this outfit. All comments and suggestions most welcome!

I love this outfit on you, Chris! The tan jacket is quite unexpected with the grey and blue, yet it works. I wouldn’t think to combine the colors. Of course, the scarf and handbag tie it all together. You look super in flares.

Thanks Aquamarine! I love neutrals, and my all-time favorite color pair is charcoal grey and cognac. I think of it as "invented" by Armani. I just never get tired of it. This is a lighter version of that with mid-wash denim added. Thanks for the comment about flares. I used to wear them a lot years ago...starting with the "bell bottoms" that were trendy in the 70's. I'm thinking of getting a second pair maybe in a darker wash.

RobinF thanks! I agree about the scarf, I'm matchy matchy like that too. It's funny to me that this scarf that I just happened to find in a gift shop at a botanical garden goes with almost everything in my closet. The old "leave no stone unturned" slogan really is a wise thing.

Angie your saying "Killer" is THE BEST.

Thanks for asking about my back...it was a pulled muscle and it's now hugely better. I'm doing a lot of stretching/strengthening exercises every day and using a big ice pack a lot. I conceptualize it as if I were a serious athlete (hah!) who always has to do "those" specific warmups. I don't mind that becoming part of my routine forever. It's all good, much better than being incapacitated

Hah, Joyce B I didn't notice but you are right...white polka dots on the clear iPhone case and tonal grey polka dots on the sweater! The iPhone case is partly broken, needs replacing, and I bet I won't find this design again.

Smittie I agree on liking the large dots. Lord & Taylor is carrying this sweater again this spring and I've considered getting it in another color but the light blue color is a little too far toward aqua for me and I don't want the other colors.

Joy, yes, botanical gardens do have great stuff in their gift shops.

Thanks Rachylou! I see that Angie collected these sneakers in the other colors....added here. They are super comfortable, with a removable insert so you could easily swap in a different one.
