WIW 4/22 plaid, argyle and closet orphan

So this will be my last WIW for a while. Next weekend I'm going to home to help my father, he's having dental surgery. Weekend after that I'm off to San Francisco.
Today I'm wearing my black and white plaid shirt, closet orphan DKNY sweater vest, Lucette cargo harem shorts, black and white argyle socks with black and white Marni sandals.
Jenava convinced me to save the sweater vest. I also own in charcoal grey.

Jenava gets a gold star because that vest/shirt combo is awesomeness on you! This look reminds me a tiny bit of an old timey golfer outfit, with the argyle socks and harem long shorts, and the sweater vest--in the best possible way :). I love the playful androgyny here. The pattern mix is fab too, and of course those Marni sandals are TDF!

Hope your dad's surgery goes well, and you have a fantastic trip in SF!! We will miss you and your fab WIWs.

SO true, Jonesy! It's old-time golf-like but more fun. What a playful outfit. I really like the plaid with the argyle.

This is a really fun outfit. I love the advanced pattern mixing with the shoes, argyle socks and plaid blouse. Hope your Dad's surgery isn't too painful (i've had a ton of dental surgery already due to bone loss). And have fun in SF!

I'm glad you had a moment to give us another WIW, before you leave. I love your cargo harem shorts and hope you get a chance to take these and the entire outfit to S.F. with you. I really like the layered vibe which is repeated from head to toe. p.s. Your makeup (and lipstick) is so pretty in this photo! Wishing your father a speedy recovery and wishing you good times in one of my favorite cities.

Thanks everyone. It didn't even occur to me that this was golf-esque. In the Trader Joe's parking lot I did get serious looking at while I loading my groceries in my car. The woman who was staring me down was wear yoga pants, a t-shirt and flip flops, but of course was driving a Volvo SUV. I did however get a "nice shoes" from a Trader Joe's employee.

I really like this outfit - I won't analyze it, but it just works. Who wouldn't look twice?People naturally notice what is different. Different is great. Good luck with your father and have a great time in San Francisco.

No doubt you are turning heads with such fashion forward creativity. Striking outfit that works for me on many levels. Tailored on top of harem, black and white plaid with complementary footwear...safe travels, Anna. If I had shorts like yours I would actually wear shorts!
