We finally have sunny and warm weather here, so I couldn't wait to bring out real warm weather clothes! Both my Boden blouse and Genetic Denim cropped straight jeans are copycat items I saw on UmmLila first, so this outfit made me think of her whole day. The jeans had a little intervention at the tailor, I had the upper legs taken in, as they stretched out horribly after wear. Now they look much more streamlined. I finished the outfit with my JC Atsuko lace-up shoes, silver RM satchel, and my usual watch and sunglasses.
This outfit is an example of the outfit formula I have decided to focus on for this spring/summer season:
1. Cropped jeans ( can be skinny, straight, or kick flare)
2. Trendy shoes that go well with cropped jeans
3. A breezy blouse/woven top in natural fibers with enough interest (color, pattern, design) that I do not need a third piece.
For cooler weather, I would add a topper, of course. A more casual version of the formula would use a knitted top such as linen tee instead of a blouse, but then I would also add a third piece - belt, scarf or vest for more interest.
