WIW 4/17 and 4/18: Gray and citron; cobalt and leopard copycat

1. Yesterday I wore my new citron silk blouse from Ann Taylor with my Halogen gray pencil skirt and a cardigan that was handed down from my BFF. Snake pumps are Jessica Simpson, black tote is Coach via eBay, megapearl pendant is from Asos. I LOVE this color combination! (And I promise the shirt isn't as see-through in person as it is in the flash photo!)

2. Today I am doing my own "copy from the interwebs" challenge with this cobalt-and-beige combo I found at J's Everyday Fashion (and may I say that THAT girl is the Queen of Copycats!!). New Halogen cobalt pencil skirt, old Target embellished tee, thrifted Talbots beige with navy pinstripes blazer, Talbots belt, Seychelles nude booties, and Brahmin via eBay bag. As usual, I like it better without the blazer but I feel naked at work without a jacket! I would never have thought to put these colors together but I am loving the combination!

Thanks for looking! Do you think I made J's casual look work-appropriate? (Give or take my cobalt fingernails?)

Lovely! I was checking out that citron blouse too but I don't think I can pull off the color. It is gorgeous on you. I think it's perfect with the jacket.

The copycat is totally fab! Very work appropriate. I love those Seychelles!

Both of these outfits are great MaryK - I'm really digging grey/citron together and the colours look really good on you. Your copy cat outfit is perfect and totally work appropriate. Of course, I love the addition of the animal print!

I love how both these outfits use soft colors to tone down brights. The copycat is especially fun since we get to see 3 iterations! Challenge: met!

MMMMM.... that citron + grey combo is SOOO fab. I love it. I wish I had something to use to copy. Darn. I have nothing. Note to self: buy citron.

I love your copy more than the original, because the addition of the animal print really gives it some zing that I think it needs. Well done!

I will enjoy citron through you ladies, it's too sour for me *sniff* Looks really awesome with gray, and I like your print mixing there (as usual, I want those heels). You did a fab copycat inspired look! I have been smitten with cobalt+blush/tan ever since seeing Marley post outfits with them last year. Leo belt with leo bag would be a bit much for me, but boy does leopard work as a fine neutral for you Mary! The stripes on the blazer mix nicely with the leopard, too

Aida, it's funny because my BFF made me take a solemn vow not to carry my leo bag if I were wearing any other leo item. But my theory is that the bag sits under my diesk all day at work, and the belt is the only leopard. And when I put on my jacket to go home and put my bag on my arm, the blazer covers up most of the belt.

That's my story, anyway, and I'm stickin' to it!

I like both outfits! I like the textured jacket over the blouse in #1. I read J's blog too and totally agree that she is the Queen of Copycats. I think your outfit is a great take on the cobalt/tan look. The leopard print gives it some additional oomph.

As usual I am struggling to choose a favorite.... adore the blue with the beige because of the leopard belt accent, and the bag! THE BAG! (my new obsession I suppose....) The gray and citron is such a great pairing as well especially the addition of the pattern in the cardigan. The online copycat challenge is such a fun idea!

Every color looks good on you. That beige looks good on you. The citron looks good on you. You need a chameleon top that changes color all day long just to show how you can wear any color. Great outfits in every way.

IS there a colour you can NOT wear? I don't think so. LOVE #1. #2 is also cool, but I'm so blown away by #1 I can't really see it.
