I was at Goodwill yesterday looking for show props, when I came across this skirt: Banana Republic, impossibly thick, soft, buttery suede, with a fringed underslip that gives it a ballerina look. For $5.95! I seldom come across such beautiful leather pieces below $300.
It is a size 8, and right now, I wear a 2-4 in BR. But I LOVE this skirt, and couldn't walk away from it. So I am wearing it today, and will decide if I am going to have it altered, or just give it to my baby sis when I see her next month.
I am still playing around with stylin ideas, and would love any ideas to make this a little more springtime - at least for the next few weeks.
#1-3 Idea one, rejected as too wintry. Skirt, worn with a mock turtleneck, some 66 denier tights, and black suede pumps by Aqua (also a Goodwill find).
#4-6 Idea two, rejected as too many ideas in one outfit. Betty Draper does suede? I didn't like this outfit at all, but hah! I just realized this is an all-Goodwill outfit. Completely accidental. Banana Republic sweater, Cole Haan pumps.
#7-8 What I am actually wearing today. The skirt and sweater from #1, lighter hose, and daintier pumps.
#**9-11 Bonus photos of the gunmetal leather peplum-ish jacket I got at Goodwill last week. BEST GW EVER!!!
**Note that there isn't actually a hole in my pants in photo #9. The previous tenants of my condo included a Sheldon Cooper-type who used candle wax to do algebraic equations all over the mirrored closet door. I have been in my condo four years, and everytime I think I have gotten that stuff off the mirror, the light hits is just right, and I realize, nope. There is still wax. So if anyone knows how to get candle wax off a mirror, let me know.
