WIW 4/15 and 4/16: St. John gets a workout!

Sunday I paid a visit to a new church in town (new to me, not new in town!) and decided to go Full Church Lady! St. John Knit skirt and sweater jacket, Eileen Fisher silk tee, all from the consignment store. Gray "croc" tote from Talbots via eBay, Madden Girl nude-to-me patent pumps. I felt very appropriate! LOL

Later in the afternoon I had some running around to do so I swapped out the skirt and pumps for my black DKNY skinnies and Life Stride ballet almost-flats.

Today I wore the same St. John Knit skirt with an Old Navy ruffled tank, AT Loft striped jacket, Talbots animal print belt, Aldo polka-dot bag, and my new Seychelles off-white pumps with navy and gold trim. There was a lot going on here but I really liked it!

What do you all think?

That is one stylish church lady look- but- Wow!! Today's outfit is so killer, I am in awe! Seriously, I have been looking at your outfits for some time for style inspiration- and this is another gorgeous one. LOVE those shoes... Love the jacket, the purse, the skirt. Okay- I'm gushing now. This must be the SoCal version of the church lady! Very sleek and chic, and why not! I've always love the pairing of blue with natural, and you do this beautifully.

#3 is my favorite of the lot, which is surprising, because I think of myself as a color girl. Expert pattern mixing and proportion. Yummy!

I loved #1, it was so soft and spring and delicate! And then you rocked it in 2! What a great switch.

I think 3 is perfect, I must be getting blind to ALGO!

I agree with everyone. outfit #3 is sublime.

But I also really like your church outfit, as it is completely cute and appropriate. Even the jacket is modestly buttoned up. Yet you are not contrived. The baby blue and layering is very Spring and young.

I love them all but that isn't surprising. Mary are you converting to neutrals and softer colors? I think I've seen a bit of a trend away from the color blocking and brights. I really love the brights on you but the softer colors are gorgeous.

"Church lady" does not equal boring in MaryK's world, that's for sure! This is a lovely outfit. I can't believe you got these gorgeous pieces through consignment.

And the outfit in pic #3 is STELLAR! I love the pattern mixing of the striped blazer with the polka dot bag (don't you just love that little bag?) and those shoes are so dreamy.

Like Dianthus, I'm seeing more neutrals on you lately.

You are still queen of the brights, but wow are you ever rocking these soft colors lately! I am amazed by people who can do both like this. #3 is TDF, and I'm drooling over the striped jacket with the shoes!

#3 was thrown together out of desperation on Monday morning and I was tickled pink with how it came together! I am so. in. love. with the striped jacket and those gifted-by-Hubby shoes!! And I think it's so interesting that the pinkish-nude-and-black polka dot bag plays so nicely with the brownish-nude-and-navy striped jacket!

Ditto what Krish said. It was a delight to see you in the pastels for a change; you wear those just as well as your signature brights and your new love, neutrals.

LOVE #3, but of course anything with those SHOES is bound to be a hit!

Sarah, isn't it funny? Sometimes I have to spend a full hour to get an outfit in which I'm willing to leave the house, and sometimes the fashion gods (or demons, Una!) are just with me and it just happens in a flash!

Suz, I resisted getting these shoes in this color scheme, but Hubby insisted they would be very versatile, and boy was he ever right!!

Oooh I LOVE these soft color palettes Mary, SO YUMMY! You look lovely in all outfits. Loving the mixing going on in #3, the tonal soft colors make it look a lot less ALGO than it would be in brighter shades. Man I need to get a leopard belt!
