Waving at MsMary who provided the inspiration with her denim on denim look! https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....hair-salon
I have several options for matchy matchy denim on denim looks. Not super styled, just trying things on for fun. Which is your favorite look?
1. Wash lab denim jacket recommended by another wonderful Fabber, and matching two tone denim skirt, Rag & Bone cherry T shirt, matching cherry heart Nike Valentine's 2023 sneakers (my daughter found a pair of these for $7 at a thrift store, and I wanted to copy her and found a pair on Depop!), Hermes pink bag. The jacket is very thin almost like a denim shirt, so I think I can justify it even though I have three other blue denim jackets--they're all different, LOL!
2. Rag & Bone Miramar trucker denim jacket and track pants, Marine Layer striped T, MZ Wallace blue camo backpack, Brooks Glycerine (my podiatrist recommended that I buy some more supportive shoes for bunion prevention because I have flat feet, so I got these and a pair of Asics Kayanos and some supportive inserts for my other shoes). I'm wearing the heck out of this jacket because it matches all of my striped track pants.
3. Gap floral horseshoe jeans and cropped denim jacket, Gap T shirt, Alexis Bittar dragonfly necklace, Kate Spade bag. The floral horseshoe jeans were also recommended by the secret Fabber (she's like my personal shopper, I just buy whatever links she sends me, LOL!). I bought the jeans in S and M because they're baggy and they may become too lose if I lose weight. I couldn't resist the matching jacket. The jacket was only available in S and it's a bit snug if I button it, so I found a size M NWT on Poshmark and it's on its way! I know the patterned denim and barrel jeans are a bit much all together, but I kind of toned it down with a plain navy T shirt and plain blue bag.
4. AllSaints Clay black denim jacket and Sadie barrel jeans in matching washed black, graphic kitty tee from Amazon (because one ramen kitty graphic tee is not enough, haha), Asics Kayano platinum sneakers, and matching kitty! The Asics and Brooks sneakers are both podiatrist recommended "stability shoes", but I think they look cooler than the orthopedic shoes I remember from the good old days!
5. Speaking of the good old days (the 80's of course!), behold the fabulousness of 80's denim on denim! My younger sisters are twins, and when they were younger, they got a lot of attention from strangers especially because my mom would dress them up in matching outfits (usually each with a different color). There were these fashion shows run by mall department stores (it could may well have been Dillards, or JC Penney, I don't remember) where they'd have local kids model the latest outfits for the season and shoppers would stop and watch. Someone from one of the department stores said they wanted the twins to be in their fashion show. I got to be in it too because I was the older sister and my mom insisted they take me too (I looked pretty nerdy and probably wouldn't have gotten picked on my own, LOL!). So once in a while we would be in these fashion shows. There was one show where me (on the left) and my sisters (to the right) and some friends walked the runway in matching acid wash denim jumpsuits. We all had permed hair (my mom made me perm my hair starting age 5!!!) and my outfit had the biggest shoulders. Sometimes we would get to keep the outfit we modeled, but unfortunately not this one. One time we had to pretend to be mannequins and would stand very still wearing our outfits, and then when people came up to look at the outfit, we would start moving and startle them. So bizarre. Crazy but fun memories! The malls used to be the happening hangout spot, we would spend all day hanging out there as teenagers! It was totally like Stranger Things!
