I haven't posted a WIW in about 2 months. Angie's blog posting today got me inspired :-). Jeans, pale grey cashmere pullover, booties, silk neckerchief in what she called the classic style, and a sparkly snowflake pendant. Subdued maximal.
This Oscar de La Renta square silk scarf is really old, not even sure which decade I bought it. (80s? 90s?). I think I originally wore it looped around the neck once and tied in front. I love the colors and pattern and that's why I've kept it.
We've had a brutally cold couple of days (8F this morning) after a teaser of 60s last week, and it's not going to get much above the freezing point today so even though I eyed a few spring sweaters, I decided to go for winter-not-quite-spring garb. Will need to add a jacket, outdoor scarf, and gloves.
However, this outfit meets the fashion direction I want for spring which includes 1) cooler palate of light grey, blush, tomato 2) modern colors/prints but more classic/traditional silhouettes. To me the scarf does not look dated in terms of colors but it is a classic shape. The bag is a lovely mid-grey pebbled leather that has shorter and longer straps that are BOTH detachable (which I love and find rarely). My custom find is burgundy but the one I bought is grey.
The scarf and new bag are the only things I haven't' shown here before
I am SO OVER winter, and even was able to begin a little garden clean up last week, but unfortunately Mother Nature rules and she's not ready yet.
