WIW 3/6: black and red

I wore this to work today. I love it in theory, but I can't decide how I feel about this outfit in practice. Thoughts etc. welcome.

Every time I went into the bathroom I changed my mind about whether the colors washed me out or made me glow, and whether the length and looseness of the shirt was gloriously fluid or hideously frumpy.

The waterfall cardigan has some textured detail that doesn't really show in the picture.

I think the colors look nice! I am wondering what would happen if you tucked the shirt. Right now, its length kind of cuts you in half, which can contribute to the "frumpy" feeling you said you were going back and forth with. If you can get the top so it's maybe a third (or a little more) of your body instead of a half, that might help the frumpy feeling. I do think that the overall outfit looks really nice.

Lots of love from me too! I think the colours are wonderful on you (given the way I see them in the photograph!). The cardi brings in the loose shirt and prevents it from being baggy, and the earrings look great, too!!! You don't look happy, though. Maybe try it again on a different day and see how you feel about it....? If you're really not happy with it, put it away and come back later. And then decide it's fate.

Ha, that sounds like me ... anytime I 'think' about my outfit, it automatically feels off and uncomfortable ... so I understand how you feel!

That said, it LOOKS great ... agree with the advice to try it again and see how it goes, and then if it doesn't FEEL great, file in under "nice, but not me".

I really like the look on you, I think the length of the top hits low enough that it gives a column effect vs frump.

Aww, thanks! You're all always so kind and positive.

I so rarely wear anything shaped like this top (dangerous with a large bust and small waist) that I can't always tell about fit. Thanks for the encouragement! Maybe I will try it more often.
