WIW 3/29: Meeting the gang in DVF and a fancy bra!

I really struggled with putting together an outfit for yesterday's awesome DVF meetup. This "the weather says it's winter but the calendar says it's spring" weather has me stymied, plus I have been going a million miles an hour this week and the laundry and planning time have both suffered!

Anyway, since we were going to see the DVF exhibit at the Museum of Art, I decided on my beloved DVF top, which I scored at my very first YLF swap a few years ago. I hoped my new white loafers would make it look current, but I ended up not being all that happy with the proportions with the slim cropped pants. Oh, well. I still had an awesome time and any day I can wear my fab fancy bra is a good day!

What fun! You look great, even if you weren't totally happy with the proportions.

I still envy that bra! Never could find it in my size. Marlies Dekkers band size seems to run a little bit big, too, so my weird small-band-big-cup size in that brand is even harder to find.

Thanks, ladies! Janet, I have noticed the band does seem a little big -- I have to fasten this one on the third row of hooks and pray that it doesn't stretch out! But OMG so fun! And I think this top is just perfect with it!! (Too bad it was too cool to take my jacket off all afternoon yesterday! LOL)

Wow there was a YLF meetup in the states too? Love the outfit, MaryK! The back looks great and the bold graphics are fun! And OMGGGG I would've totally needed out over DVF. If I wasn't an apple, I'd be wearing wrap dresses all the time!

Ms.KK, we talked at lot at the DVF exhibit about how those particular wrap dresses were cut for bodies like Ms. DVF herself -- tall, slim rectangles. Then somebody asked, well, MaryK, what dress would you design for YOUR self? And after thinking about it, my answer was "A wrap dress quite similar to these, but cut to fit me (with WAY more room up top!)"

The exhibit was really interesting. I think all of us agreed that although we liked the ones we liked very much, we disliked more of the dresses than we liked. In particular, that little collar at the top of the wrap/v-neck left most of us cold. And surprisingly, we loved the evening versions best of all! But yeah... super fun to see them all together like that!

Karie, they're quite comfy! They come in wide widths and I ordered the 6W and they are nicely comfortable.
