WIW 3/28: Angie's olive/red/white ensemble, 3 versions

I loved Angie's blog post today and decided to adapt it for work today. #1 is my first try, which looked a little "blah" to me in the mirror, plus I felt like I needed a third piece to make it office-worthy. #2 is what I wore, which looks too matchy in the photo. #3 is what I wish I'd worn, minus the belt and with the python bag -- I think it is closest to the inspiration pics. Actually I wish I'd worn #3 with the belt from #1. That's my final answer. I think.

Red belt: thrifted
Studded belt: Streets Ahead
Red pumps: Madden Girl
Red tote: Dooney & Bourke
Python satchel: Elliott Lucca

Wow I don't know which I like best. I do like the red belt - but I also like it without the belt. What about the belt and the python bag? I could play mix and match MaryKs all day!

I like all your versions. I really like both belts that you have shown and agree that #3 with the belt from #1 would look really good. I'm going to experiment with this formula tomorrow. I hope my outfits look as good as yours.

I really like the version you wore. The red really brings the outfit to life, and I'm always in favor of matchy-matchy!

Love #1 and #2. Also like #3, but it's missing that beautiful pop of red, and I think this is what makes the olive/white/cream combination sing, as per Angie's blog post today.

You look gorgeous in these colours, and I think you are totally on the right track. The outfit that you wish you'd worn (#3) is lovely, but not nearly as fab as versions #1 and #2 with the beautiful red accents.

In the meantime, what a fabulous colour combination for you! A pair of spring neutrals (olive and cream/white) with just a wee bit of red - and you look like a million bucks

You have such great clothes. So it's ok to wear a belt over a skirt with no belt loops? I would have never considered that.

I love how your hair seems to bookend the skirt. Not that you have khaki hair, but you know what I am saying. There is a cohesiveness to the look, automatically, because of your colouring. And I REALLY like the red belt, so I want you to keep that, whatever you do!

Because I have and love the Elliott Lucca bag, I have a completely biased love of #3 - but what about adding the red belt to it for a wee bit more red?

You look absolutely gorgeous in that shade of olive green MaryK - and I don't think that's a colour that many can pull off as beautifully as you do.

They are all fab, MaryK! I could play mx and match all day here. I hear you on #3, and I agree that a belt would be a plus. Both the red one and the snakeskin one would look great, I think.

I like #2 and #3 a lot but I think I'd like #2 with the python bag just as much. You look fantastic in any of them but agreed #1 wasn't as interesting as the other two.

There is nothing to argue, but I do prefer avec belt than sans belt.

I find this formula of Angie's very intriguing. Don't know why. I may be softening on the matter of drab and olive... I'm just afraid of the original Banana Republic safari look.
