WIW 3/25: Bailey 44 goes to the office

I am still not 100% myself so I'm still way into FFBO's, and today it was the famous B44 striped tiered dress. It's my tightest dress but one benefit to the tummy flu is my weight is lower than it's been for a year! LOL Tossed on a jacket and I was good to go.

Striped dress: Anthropologie
Black jacket: Comptoir Des Cotonniers
Black patent pumps: Madden Girl
Black tote: Coach
Black pendant: H&M

What to you think? Is it too bodycon for work, or did the jacket save it?

Jacket really makes it office appropriate. It reminds me of a pencil skirt and sweater level of body con, so not too much.

Amazing what a little stomach flu and black blazer can do. Or rather, amazing what you can do with the flu and a blazer, right? You are inspiring me to maybe try my bodycon galaxy dress with a long blazer at work... hm... I think I especially love the chunky pendant with it - really brings the eye to the face and tones down the body-con-ness.

Sometimes I feel like my FFBO are cop outs -- not because I'm being lazy, but because they're easy, but a little boring.

Well, not THIS one. It's simple in that it doesn't require a lot of fuss, but it's high impact and fab. And yes, the jacket makes it safe even for lawyers!

How come you still have roses in your cheeks even though you've had the stomach flu? I'd look like death warmed over. You look so good in that dress, and the longer jacket was brilliant to pair with it. Not too body-con at all!

Claire, those "roses" are the bane of my existence! It's not health, it's rosacea!

It's so funny you say it's a "longer jacket!" To me it's a short jacket, because it's shorter in back!

You all probably want to change your answers now that you know (half of) my booty was on display...

Lovely! I adore the colour of this dress on you and truly the way the layers run make it such a flattering dress on everyone! Perfect FFBO. Just an aside I only recent understood what stomach flu is! We call it "gastro". I kept thinking how does your stomach have a cold (a cold is often part of what we refer to as flu) ha ha

I don't know what the dress code is at your office but you look amazing! I understand the bootie concern. Nothing to do with size or shape of booties in this dress, it is just that they look quite sexy in this dress, in a bombshell way. In many workplaces that is OK, especially with a jacket debombshelling the overall look.

You look too fabulous to still be feeling residual sickness Mary! Really like the dark colors with all the exposed skin, now that's how to wear dark colors in spring without being too heavy. I like the outfit even more after reading that the jacket is shorter in back! Yay for the pendant, I'm glad it's getting so much use

Although it's sassy and sexy, this outfit is work appropriate in my book. The way you've styled it with a black jacket and black pumps is what takes this away from date night and into the office. This is one of those outfits I could see in an editorial about how to dress for work and a date afterwards. You know, remove the jacket, change out the accessories and trade the black pumps for a strappy heel.

I love it! I'm biased--I wear my orange B44 with leather blazer at work too! But you totally rock this look!
