WIW 3/21: to run errands

Today I had a lot of errands to run - doctor, picking up stuff from the tailor, returning some things - and wanted to look cute.

So I put on a hand-me-down skirt from my mom and a sweater I've had for years and Cons (pic 1) ... and then it was much chillier than I thought it would be.

So I swapped out my sweater, and then I had to change my shoes, and I threw on a necklace because ... why not? (pic 3)

As I bonus, I bring you my very handsome partner (pic 2).

Curious to see what y'all think about these outfits. I'm having trouble figuring out what else will look good with this color skirt -comments and suggestions very welcome!

Fun Photos!! The orange sweater goês with white, grey, denin, navy, brown. I find orange very versatile

Love #1! Great greens with the buff skirt. And great of course with your glasses.

And love that handsome partner will wear a lilac shirt. It looks so great on a lot of men but I'm having little luck convincing the one I live with :).

I think that color skirt would be very versatile. Pale top and shoes (pastels), Other neutrals of any color, brights where the top and shoes worked together well. It's a casual style, so keeping it all casual would be what I would tend to do. It's a great skirt to wear with sneakers like you are doing in #1. I have a somewhat similar skirt ( a little darker) and it gets paired with bare legs, sneakers, or casual sandals and t shirts, maybe a cardigan.

I really like #1. It looks very neutral and easy going (I hope that makes sense). I think most anything should go with the skirt because it's more neutral.

I prefer the outfit proportions of #3, and think you wear that look well.

rute: I find the orange versatile, but light colored neutrals always leave me unsure! I suppose I am an odd one here!

rabbit: Thanks! 1 feels a little conservative, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I'm curious - what about the skirt feels casual? To me the shape isn't casual, and I don't wear a lot of linen, so I see it as very work-appropriate (although today was far from a working day). I also don't do a lot of pale colors - nearly everything in my closet is saturated or dark - which is why I'm having trouble figuring out what goes! And yes, isn't he handsome?

Ah! I think I thought that it was a cotton material like a khaki (eyesight failure). That combined with the above knee length and front zipper made it read a little more casual to me, I think because like I said, I have a skirt that looks similar, but is sort of a 'gear' skirt which confused my impressions. If linen I'm sure it works for the office too.

I didn't read outfit #1 as conservative, partly because any outfit that involves green chucks doesn't read that way to me Maybe it's just different definitions at play?

I like both outfits. I love that your Cons match your shirt in #1. Your partner looks very dapper and handsome. I think the skirt would go with a lot of colours. Most browns and blues spring to mind.

I think of the color of the skirt as a neutral, so. I'd wear it with almost any color.

I love #3 and I have serious sweater envy with that boucle sweater (the color! yum! the style! yum!)

I think your skirt is such a nice neutral you could style it with many things. It could look cool with black tights and shoes and a black sweater or shirt for a black and tan color block effect.

...and I think your partner looks smashing in his lilac shirt (plus I love how his pose looks like he's Captain Morgan about to go out plundering)

I like the first outfit best ( I would... Modern classic minimalist here). I'd like to see a different necklace in 3. Something hanging just a tad lower would do it.

I like #1! It is Audrey-esque and I think it suits you!

You have had some great suggestions regarding what to pair this skirt with; prints, floral, pastel, black...... Have fun!

Great outfits! I love the color of the sneakers in pic #1 and how they bookend the top.
