WIW 3/20: hand-me-downs

Today I felt inspired to wear this scarf, and I planned my outfit around it.

The dress and cardigan are both hand-me-downs and the scarf was a vintage find. The dress is reversible, but I always wear it the same way - the neckline and skirt are both high-low, and I don't like where the higher neckline falls on me!

What do you think about this cardigan? I love the color, but it feels a little bit big to me. I've got a lot of room around the middle, and it's longer than the cardigans that I love the most.

My longer cardigans are falling into disfavor lately too. With that said, you look very cute here. If it feels too big around the middle you could try belting or tying a scarf around it.

Whoever you're getting your hand-me-downs from has good taste - you look great!

The color of the cardigan is lovely but if it feels big even when buttoned and you don't feel fab in it, maybe it's time to let it go? That said, I always have trouble with long cardigans with skirts/dresses and generally feel a slouchy cardigan works better with pants for me.

adorkable, you look great! I love the whole vintage-boho vibe of the outfit. The yellow scarf looks lovely against the green cardigan. I don't think the cardigan is big on you at all, in fact I think it fits you perfectly!

I love it all! I dunno, I like long cardigans, and because of the way this one is buttoned midway, I think it works with your waist for this dress. If it didn't body skim I might try it with a belt, but the way you have buttoned it and the hang of the scarf make that not necessary to my eye with this outfit. Like the colors, GREAT skirt shape on that dress.

Oh, I feel this is a display of real talent. You look good. The shiny sandals are just right, providing polish.

I think the cardigan is really good for the skirt. The drapey bigness fits with the balloon of the skirt without, well, making you look fat! Lol.

I love the hem of the dress, the pieced detailing and slight bubble is fantastic. As for cardigans that feel to big (this one looks good not too big to me, but it is about how you feel in it) have you thought of wrapping it over itself and pinning it? E inspired me to try it with a sweater and I am planning to stitch it that way. I'll go hunt for her post and add a link in a minute.

I like the cardigan, especially the colour but not sure it works with the voluminous bottom of your dress - bet it would look great with a slimmer fitting bottom but I think it's a keeper.
