WIW 3/2 : Inspired by Mustard Magic

Hi All,

Mustard is not my color, but I like the outfits in this Angie’s post. The weather is very nice, sunny and warm these days. I wore my marigold light sweater (old), the only one I have in shade of yellow. I usually wear it with burgundy or light pink, but this time I tried like this:

1. This outfit combines earth tones - cinnamon pants ( C&A), marigold light sweater (Zara), beige suede boots ( Zara), cognac bag and pearls. As a topper I had beige short coat ( H&M) , no picture. (#1).

2. The same sweater semi-tucked, the white kick flared ankle jeans (H&M), camel boots and necklace. I wore this outfit today.(#2)

3. I tried combination with my new blue straight high ankle jeans ( H&M), snakeskin loafers (Zara) and snakeskin bag, and long necklace.(#3) This outfit is for spring.

That top reads more like liquid sunshine than mustard. I love how it plays a different role in each outfit -- analogous partner, pop of colour and complement.

This shade of yellow is lovely on you. It seems more gentle than mustard. My favorite way you are wearing the top is semi tucked, with just a peek of waist. Do you have any toppers that you can add to these outfits if the weather is cooler? A jean jacket would look great with #1 or 2. Ay e 3 too if the shades of blue work together.

That’s a lovely top. I like the semi tuck. Mustard is a hard colour. I think the lipstick is an excellent way to fend off its potential ill-effects.

Mirjana, mustard is not my best colour either. You have made it look fab on you. I love the white jeans and pearl combination the most, it is stunning, but you have such flair that all of these work beautifully on you.

You have a great eye for outfit creation! The tonal color scheme in #1 is fresh and fab, and I love the combo of white and "earthy" yellow! I find that creating at least 3 outfits with a new item makes me much more likely to wear it often!

I like the tobacco coloured trousers with the jumper - I remember the brand Yessica! It's a shame C&A went bust here. I have the same Jumper as you & to my eye it's more of a saffron orange than a true mustard yellow. Very flattering - you've given me ideas for my own styling of mine too!

ZAEOBI, yes, now I rarely find good items, but I used to buy wonderful things there once . It's not mustard definitely, to my mind it's marigold .
