Today is our 25th wedding anniversary. Lou and I got married in Pittsburgh, on a gorgeous fall day. People traveled from as far as Wales, and all over the US, to join us. It remains the best party we've ever thrown.

There is almost nothing that I wore in 1993 that I would wear again today, esp now that I am YLF-enlightened. But, I still love my wedding dress and would maybe choose something similar again. I would probably go for less detail on the sleeves if I had a choice, and less on the top of my head, but I think the neckline suited me.

The dress was a relative bargain, as I fit into the rack sample. It was the only garment I had ever worn that was fitted perfectly. I didn't really learn about the utter requirement for tailoring and perfect fit for daily wear until I arrived here, to be honest.

It feels like just yesterday, but so much life has gone down. I'm equally happy and sad, looking through our wedding album. Missing then are the 2 boys who came along in 1995 and 1998, so there's the joy. Missing now are so many of our loved ones, including my husband's entire immediate family.

We are going to Bar Harbor for a long weekend to celebrate the accomplishment of a healthy and thriving marriage, 2 wonderful adult sons and a lot of life ahead. Appreciating my very good fortune.
