WIW 2/24: Black and gray and succumbing to the sneaker

I discovered last night that my workout shoes are about the same height as Das Boot (see pic 2), so today I am wearing one to work. Oh, the shame! LOL

Gray flannel pants: Express (you can't see it in the photo, but they've got a microcheck pattern)
Black turtleneck: Ann Taylor
Gray leopard cardi: JC Penney
Sneaker: Mizuno
Gray tote: Talbots
Pendant: H&M
Gray belt: Target

This is more casual than I would normally dress for work but it's a no-meetings day so I'm just rolling with it. I really do need to do some shoe shopping, though!

Feeling for you Mary and hoping the fracture heals well for you. What can I say....great outfit...shame about the shoes. Glad to see you're still smiling despite everything. Take good care and keep your right leg elevated when you can.....it'll help to reduce that swelling.

So fab even with the boot that I can hardly stand it. Have you considered fabric paint pens to give Das Boot a leopard pattern?

Mary, you look sensational! Gosh, you are making that boot an actual part of your outfit. I say wear whatever you can while you are healing. You are always going to steal the show and I cannot believe anyone would question your authority!

Yay for accessorising an orthopaedic support! I'm empathising here because I'm limping around on a broken toe and I narrowly escaped Das Boot myself. As it is I'm relegated to shoes with thick soles and a generous toe box, so it's big boots for me on both feet for at least another week.

Anyway, it's good to see it hasn't slowed you down. I think the sneaker creates just the right contrast and the textured black pants are a great choice. I have no idea what dress code requirements you're up against, but I would have thought all bets are off when you have to wear that thing and no excuses. Perhaps an opportunity for some creative retail therapy for the other foot?

Hang in there. I do hope you won't have to wear it for too long!

Oh no, I'm just catching up and see that you sprained your ankle! How painful. Hoping for a speedy recovery, your pants go really well with the Frankenboot (so named by Karie), you are looking great in spite of the injury!

Approprio, it's so funny because I keep telling people that the worst part if this injury, by far, is that is has in fact slowed me down a lot!! I'm used to charging around like a madwoman and that isn't really an option at the moment.

CocoLion, it's not just sprained -- it's broken and I have the x-ray to prove it! LOL

You look beyond fabulous. Using the boot to bookend your look is genius. OK, maybe not intentional, but genius. And the reflective sparkle from the athletic shoe bookends the metallic in the bag. You will more than surpass this little "booty challenge."

It's perfect. Sporty stylish and the only thing missing is the other sneaker. It's crazy how adaptable you are. I love this and you look great.

Good luck with the shoe shopping! I hope that the fracture heals quickly. I spent 6 weeks in das boot's little brother, the black velcro platform shoe, after a stress fracture and it definitely made dressing more challenging.

I think it works well. Your bad ankle gives you the perfect opportunity to sport some different footwear options.
