WIW 2/2 and 2/3: Not-so-basic black

This is shaping up to be Kate Spade stripey-heeled pumps week! LOL

1. Yesterday was a bit of a Sexy Secretary look, which I enjoyed quite a bit.

Black pinstripe skirt: hand-me-down from a friend
Coral sweater: Costco
Black cardi: GAP (my first YLF-inspired purchase!)
Striped scarf: Missoni for Target
Black tote: Coach
Coral pumps: Kate Spade

2. Today I busted out my beloved black ponte moto jacket, which I bought a few years ago and didn't see much wear last year. I've worn it several times in the past week or two and the love is unabated. You can't see the color of the shoes very well, but they are bright Kelly green with striped heels, which amuses me because it picks up the stripes in my top!

3. And in house news, I have finally installed the magnet collection on the ceiling in the laundry room! Big fun!!

Celia, yep it's a rash guard. The material is a smooth and slightly shiny nylon/spandex blend. It's become a real wardrobe workhorse for me!

Echo, the magnetic paint idea was born of desperation. The magnet collection outgrew the fridge at the old house, and I thought about putting metal of some kind up on the kitchen ceiling, and then I learned there was such a thing as magnetic paint, and the rest is history. At the former house I painted it myself, and when I bought the new house I thought "never again!" and I had the contractor write "five coats of magnetic paint on laundry room ceiling" into the remodeling contract! LOL (My designer was horrified about the very idea but I am confident that once she sees it in person she will love it!) And yes, magnets make great souvenirs because they don't cost much and (if you put them on the ceiling) they don't take up any space!
