Today's ensemble post provided plenty of inspiration and I promptly put it in action. Even though I have a couple of sweater vests, the weather is too cold to allow for the skirt version so I went for the second, flare jeans one.
Similarly to the outfit in the blog post, I layered a bright peplum top ( mine is an old cobalt ponte top from Express) over patterned silk blouse (White House Black Market) with flared jeans (Love Story by J Brand). I picked the cobalt the second time with the cobalt tote (Kennethe Cole) and finished the outfit with pointy black booties (Stuart Weitzman). I know that I should were shoes about an inch higher with these jeans, it just wasn't possible today for practical reasons.
Since it is very cold today, instead of a cocoon coat I am wearing my new-ish Soia&Kyo puffer, the investment purchase of the season ( I got it for1/3 of the original price). It is very warm and nicely made, and I love the fact that it is made of wool material as opposed of the usual puffer tech fabric. I had to size up to fit my shoulders, so it is a bit big around the torso, but I don't know how obvious that is.
I am curious about the how flattery of this waist defining look. I like drawing attention to my waist, but not to my hips. Which one does this outfit accentuate? Or is not possible to do one without the other? Many thanks!
