wiw: 2 knit dresses + 1 big bag

Hi all

Winter in Australia is short and mild, and I run hot, so I don't get to wear knit dresses often. This is unfortunate, as I really like them and I have .. ahem.. quite a few.

Outfit 1 (pics 1 and 2): Worn to lunch. Head to toe rust/plum/burgundy. My favourite colours and a high happiness factor for me. These colours tend to be hard to get in Australia so I hang on to them when I find them. Consequently all these items are old or oldish. DVF dress, Gestuz jacket (ASOS), Jo Mercer boots, Vanessa Mooney necklace and ring. The big bag is by Lucky Brand. It is a lot of fun!

Outfit 2 (pic 3): Worn to dinner. Sportscraft dress (bought this season - and I so did not need it!), Theodora and Callum necklace (Shopbop) (detail in pic 4), Free People jacket, Frye boots. My boots are old but the style is still around. I know they are heavy but I like the casual vibe that they give the outfit. Also, they are very comfortable and we walked quite a way to dinner. The jacket is far more RATE than it appears in the photo. Lots of loose threads.

Oh My Goodness.. you gorgeous woman! What fabulous outfit. I adore tonal looks, there is something so classy about them. The plum colour is just beautiful on you and the Frye boots are extremely cool in the other outfit.

In my part of Oz, winter is short but brutal lol! I am sitting in my office as I type with two feet that feel like iceblocks lol. I may have to relocate. Oh, and you may not have needed the new dress, but it needed you!!

Thanks Deborah! It was 25 degrees yesterday where I am. I had to break out the summer gear. Much cooler today but still not exactly brutal! Sounds like you need a little panel heater under your desk. My husband runs cold and he keeps one under his desk and uses it right up to November. Toasty toes!

Vix, I like that idea "elegant boho". And I agree, who could resist that bag! I don't use it that much because it is, well, somewhat dominating. But I do love it. The necklace is tigers eye.

Hang on to those plums and rusts, they are amazing on you. I think the mix of older pieces and new pieces is what makes these outfits, very elegant indeed. You can carry off the boots well too, I think the chunkiness suits the dresses and makes them more casual.

You need a winter holiday in NZ to wear your lovely dresses. Wellington or maybe the South Island!

The one good thing about this past Winter in Melbourne is that I have worn all my woollen jumpers multiple times to combat the cold, but right now a temp. of 25 degrees sounds like heaven to me
