WIW-1st week at work - YouLookFab Forum

I wanted to share my first week of office outfits with you.I 'recreated ' the first 3 outfits at the end of the 3rd day so hopefully I looked somehow fresher in the morning. Also I took these with the preset and the colors look very dark.
The 4 and last(I work there 4 days a week) was taken at the end of the day when I came home.
As you can see I opted(because that was what I had on my closet) for more conservative cuts and slightly more on the business than on the casual side of the business casual.
#1- This is a beautiful lace shirt that didn't translate well into photo.The shoes are D'Orsay flats which made me feel a little less dowdy.My choice of a trustworthy navy outfit was very deliberate and although I was hitching to dress the lace blouse with some skinny jeans I think it served it's purpose.
#2- Very hot and muggy day. I have to say that this was my favourite outfit of the week. I felt very much like Joan from Mad Men, as in 'I am a woman in a men's world but I know what I am doing'.
#3- Matchy matchy.After work I had to go to a function at my DD school and got some compliments on it.Maybe it works better IRL.
#4- I have no great love for this top but what really bugged me about this outfit were the mary janes.They are not so much me any more.
I would love to know what you honestly think about these outfits and what you would change. I still have a couple more things in my closet to put into rotation and in the end we can have a great Forum party figuring out what are the best 'uniforms' if you are willing.

You look wonderful in each of these outfits. I love the top in 4 - the colours are wonderful with your complexion.

Great outfits! I think you look fab in all of them, but if you wanted to, you could try #3 with a white pant to elongate your line.

Well I think they all work really well and you have a good eye for pattern and color.

#1 that is a really beautiful blouse on you and I think colorwise works well with the navy pants and lighter accessories (I like the white watch). I'm not totally sure about the cut of the pants in this outfit but dress trousers are not something I know much about.

#2 Gorgeous! The coral shoes are great next to your bare legs, and that dress is amazing. I think you are dress twins with Janet? I wish I could be a dress triplet...

#3 I like the pattern of the top and of course the white and coral are great. I might try another color pant or skirt if you wanted to do variations on this - I think navy or ink would be a great bold contrast, and a paler tan or off white might work well. I can also see olive or charcoal working - I'm thinking slightly more pale tones or darker tones rather than mid range in general.

#4 I really like the top on you and think it transitions well into the pants. I also like the t-strap shoes, but you could experiment with sharper toe shapes if you wanted to try something different down here.

I always retake my WIW pictures on the weekend because that's when I have a camera, so of course they look a little different :).

You look great! Yay, dress twin -- I feel fab in that dress too. It has some sort of magical properties. And I also love that top in #4 -- the colors and the stripes are fab.

I think you look great! #1 and #2 are my favourites., though maybe your Madmen look just has the edge Are the trousers in #4 the same as #2? as I'm just wondering if perhaps they are hitched up a tad higher in #4 which causes a not quite PPL length to my eye, or perhaps your shoes are just higher. The blue top compliments your dark hair beautifully though.

Those are all great, but my favourites are #1 and #2. I really like the top/cardigan/shoes combination in #3, but I'm not sure about the color combination with the pants. Love the top in #4 on you, but I agree with Diane, the pants look a tad too short with the shoes. How about wearing the flats from #1 instead?

My faves are 2,3,4. You look great in all of these though. I hope your transition to work is going well and your workplace is a great place

#1 BTW: I really like simple outfits like this. Dark shoes might elongate your line but then you might want to add something simple to replace the interest brought in the shoes.
#2 fav! Really great outfit.
#3 fav, too.. Love the pants color suggestions for different styling.
#4 love. Love the blue shirt on you, especially. I think a dark pencil skirt would also go very nice with this outfit. Slightly different look. I like the T-straps, too.

I looked at the photos before your text and thought "Wow! She's got flattering office dressing down!". I think the beauty of that lace blouse translated just fine in the photos, and funnily enough I liked the shoes in 4 a lot. But if they're not your style anymore, a plainer pump would look lovely as well.

#2 is you WOW look! Did anyone ever tell you that you wear orange/tangerine well? I'm starting to think that it's your color the cut, print and colours of that dress is just pure perfection!

Thank you all for the kind words and advice.
Diane/Astrid you have a great eye. They are the same pants but I guess the lenght is only ppl when using flats. The t-straps have a little heel and that made the difference.
Your advices on different pants/shoes provided me with another week of outfits

Everything looks great -- polished and with personality! I especially love #2.

Terrific first week outfits! The lace top is gorgeous and I agree that #2 is fab and my favorite too. The top in #4 is great on you - I think you just need different pants, maybe white or cropped to give a punch up.
