WIW 16 05 13. Denim on denim plus "delicious" sneaks

I was instantly smitten with the Ecco sneakers that Angie posted about in her recent Bridgette post, and stalked them for a while, then ordered them from Ecco Canada (free shipping plus they were on sale!). They arrived on Thursday, were exactly what I was hoping for in both fit and colour (Angie called them delicious,and she's so right!), so out they went on Friday. I wore them the whole day, doing lots of errands, got two compliments from strangers on them, and came home with happy feet. DH even commented on them TWICE in a positive way, and he doesn't comment on much!

So, the outfit. In looking at the pics, I think I should have semi-tucked the tee. I tried it but preferred the layered tee/jacket look. IRL. Does the scarf make it too matchy matchy?

I am a smitten kitten with this outfit. Those shoes are fantastic, I just want to take a bite out of them, heh. The scarf, the top, the jeans -- it's all working flawlessly. That shade of yellow is great on you!

I am wondering, if my hair goes grey, maybe citron will work on me? (I have never ever found a yellow that works on me. Technically they say my palette can include light lemon yellow but in reality I look hideous in anything with even the mildest yellow tone to it. But shoes and bag...that's a different prospect....)

Not too matchy matchy at all - you look wonderful in this! I know what you mean about the semi-tuck issue and I am never sure what to do ether . I'd be wearing it as you did ....but I know we are "supposed to" be faking at tuck. I don't know - I'm still not in love with looking at anyone's crotch in jeans . As weird as that sounds

And I'm very close to jumping on the bandwagon with these shoes. Very close.

Oh my goodness ladies, thank you! I can't tell you how nice it feels to come back from a busy couple of hours of errands to such a positive response.

Wearing them again today, with white jeans and a turquoise sweatshirt. Feeling very colourful!

Suz, it's so hard to say. I bet anything there is a version of it that would work for you... and as you say, shoes and bag are always a good bet. We'll see soon enough!

I don't think white and citron can be topped! What a fantastic outfit - you look radiant. I could copy your outfit pretty closely. Yes, you heard right, my saga with the Ecco shoes is not finished (will pm you).

Stunning. Such a divine combination of pieces. So fresh, modern, springlike. So perfect on you. I love those shoes too.

i agree on the layered look of jacket and tee and am loving the white-on-white textural interplay between the two pieces. I'm having a bit of a struggle with the semi-tuck. At 5'4", tee hems tend to put a horizontal line in the worst place for me. With lightweight tees, The hem also feels sloppy (your denim topper idea is inspired for getting around that problem). The semi-tuck resolves these issues, so I semi-tuck with abandon, but I have strong negative feelings about it. I end up feeling fab-not fab.

I confess to missing the old scoop hem of the 90s. It just felt more finished, flattering -- and a good way to avoid the crotch issue Lisa mentions.

I don't know about matchy -matchy as I don't have a good eye for spotting it.
To me the colour palette looks very fun and fresh and perfect for the spring.
Nice sneakers! Those definitely add an unexpected element! Fabulous.
