WIW 15/5: another maxi dress

Tonight I wore my other favourite maxi dress from last summer. Again, not too sure about the cardigan but it worked for tonight!

Black long cardigan, printed maxi dress, brown sandals.

(Holiday is coming closer to the ending... Still one full day and night left though!)

Thoughts, comments, ideas? Much appreciated as always!

Very pretty dress! I love the pattern. And I think that the cardigan works well--its length seems to go well with the dress (I've got proportions on my mind since I just checked in on Staysfit's recent proportions thread).

I think the length of the maxi is good also--not too long, not too short. I think that getting a flattering length is important on a maxi dress or skirt.

What do you think about adding a necklace to fill in the neckline?

first reaction Goodness that is beautiful. I can see why it is a favorite. Everything works here just like Gigi said. I was also thinking a necklace to fill in. But If you left it as it it is still beautiful. I hope you time there goes slowly.

Thanks so much Gigi and Ledonna! I'm glad the cardigan works. Good idea with a necklace! I rarely wear jewellery so I appreciate getting ideas of when it can work. Can definitely try a necklace with this the next time I wear it! Do you think my "golden swing girl" could work with this?

The cardigan works like a charm...I love the print of the dress and the drape of the sweater...You have a winner in that outfit...JMO but I like the simplicity of the dress and cardy without the necklace...

I love the necklaces with the swinging little girl but, I think it competes with the dress. Man did I just say that? Yes, Yes I did...lol I am a more is more person. I would do a very understated one like a simple one.

I like the dress - perfect for a hot holiday! I find the black a bit heavy with the dress, but still wearable. Only mentioning bc you asked. I think a lighter colour would look less heavy but the drape of the black is lovely.

ETA hope that didn't sound critical. You look lovely and relaxed

I think that the swinging girl necklace might be a little long for filling in the neckline--will it hit almost at the top of the dress? I was envisioning something that hits closer to your neckline. Maybe experiment and see what works?

I love the swinging girl necklace and can see why you would want to wear it as much as possible. It's a unique, noteworthy piece of jewelry. I think it will look too busy with this dress. It's hard to imagine, I need an actual visual image.

Ok, so I'll probably skip the girl necklace. Problem is I basically only have longer necklaces... Hmm... Will have to think about that!
