WIW 1/5: Another copycat, 70s style for a meeting with my lawyer

Yes, I am spending a lovely Sunday morning meeting with my lawyer. Such has my life become. But at least I am super happy with my outfit, which I have modified from a Pinterest look and somehow turned out as an homage to the 70s! So far 2014 is turning out to be The Year of the Copycat, which disturbs me not at all!

Jeans: Earnest Sewn
Tan corduroy blazer: Amber Sun
Plaid shirt: Target (boys' dept)
Leopard belt: Talbots
Pendant: H&M
Black booties: Via Spiga
Cognac satchel: Banana Republic

Wow, Mary K, I would not have thought of the blue with tan but it looks absolutely wonderful!! As always, you look polished, elegant and refined. Love those boot cuts on your so slim, sleek and stylish!!

As for the Sunday morning: I am cleaning my house today after my 2 sons departed for the college yesterday. The mess in their rooms is unbelievable and I need one of them for my aunt's visit next week...no, I would not call it uplifting Sunday at all!

Fabulous! I agree that yours surpasses the original.
Also, great idea to shop the boys' department for your shirt. I looked at a flannel shirt in a men's dept. recently but talked myself out of it. I'll have to reconsider. They seem warmer and have longer sleeves.

I met with my lawyer and he was wearing a plaid shirt, too! It went as well as can be expected. He is hopeful that maybe we can get this thing wrapped up reasonably soon. I am less optimistic, but... we'll see. I told him if I am divorced before the end of 2014, I will call it a win.

Meanwhile, he gave me lots of great feedback about my incredible level of organization and legal acumen, which is always fun. And on the way home I took myself out to breakfast, then stopped off and did a lot of returns I'd been needing to do and picked up a nice top on sale in the Pantone Color of the Year! Now I'm in my loungewear watching the NFL playoffs and madly reading the book club book in advance of tomorrow night's meeting! LOL

Windchime, I was shocked at the "flannel" in some shirts recently. And I agree they seem warmer and softer in the boys or mens' departments (although, not always so). I dutifully trotted over to my Macy's before the holidays, when I saw their ad for men's flannel shirts. I was deeply disappointed, they felt maybe like light brushed cotton! I did find one teal green/gray/black plaid at my Target, so with truly frigid temps bearing down on us, I'll be doing some black and gray pants and leggings looks. I am not crazy about teal, but the other colors were a lot more "guy" than I like. I think for some more plaids I might try MaryK's trick -- though I don't know about fit for my definitely womanly figure.

MaryK, those looks are terrific!! Glad your meeting went fairly well. You remember you are also supposed to be enjoying the book club reads, right?

I am pleased to report that I have dived into the book club book and am enjoying the heck out of it! Just the thing for a quiet Sunday afternoon!!

As for flannel shirts, I want to give a shoutout for the Old Navy lightweight plaid flannel shirt I bought just before Christmas. Not only is it soft and nicely fitting, but it washes like a dream. Big thumbs up from here! And it's on sale right now: http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/.....=647113122
