WIW 13.12.11: Debuting the BR windowpane pants

Well, I finally road tested my BR windowpane pants. It took me a while, as I didn't have the right shoes... so had to wait until I found comfy pumps. Which I needed anyway... these just provided extra motivation.

Have to say, these are extraordinarily comfortable.

Shown here how I wore them at work, and how I wore them to and from work. Love your thoughts on whether you think I could get away with them worn tucked into these boots, as an inside all day look. But perhaps its hard to tell with the coat.

You look chic in black and white and those pants are the star of the show! I'm not sure about tucked into those boots. I'm thinking "no" but I would need to see the outfit without the coat. We'll see what our more seasoned boot wearers have to say.

Those slacks are gorgeous! You have styled them beautifully, but I prefer them tucked into the boots for commuting only, not as an all day look.

Sooooo classy and chic. Love! I like them better without the boots, but I think they work with the boots too... it just changes the vibe completely. Very versatile pants.

The pants look great. I definitely like them with the pumps better. somehow tucked into the boots makes them look too "light".

I love how the black and white kind of echoes your hair.
I prefer them with the pumps (except for the commute, of course).

You look great in those awesome pants! I think the boots are little heavy for the pants, which feel very light. Maybe a pair of sleeker, or lighter colored boots?

They look terrific on you, Elizabeth, and that his a great outfit. I prefer them with pumps for indoor but understand the need to wear them this way to commute. You could also probably wear them with booties for some added warmth on non-snowy days.

Do you have non-black boots? Lower contrast may be easier to wear. I think Mary K wore hers with cognac boots?

I agree with suz, I'd like to see this with booties instead if the tall boots. But I like the pants with the pumps

They look great on you! I think you could get away with the boots too, but perhaps with a longer, more RATE sweater to match the tougher vibe of the boots?

Thanks for the responses ladies! Much appreciated. I wasn't sure about the boots... they didn't feel right, so I'm glad you agree.

For those that sugested booties... I have a hard time with this one, given the length of the pants. To my eye they make the pants seem even shorter. What heel height and height of let would you suggest? I'd love more options for the ways to wear the pants.

Maybe I should just try some and post

Well, agreed...it could be difficult. But I was hoping you'd be able to manage black. It might or might not work. Worth a try with a tucked or semi-tucked top. If you have anything lower contrast try that as well.

How fab you look! I think some booties would work, even at this length. Also, what would these pants look like dressed down with a chambray shirt, perhaps worn under a solid sweater? With slipper flats?

Oh Elizabeth - you look great in #1! (Actually, you look great in #2 - I just like the styling of #1 better.) I have some pants this length and I have a really difficult time making them work with booties - just doesn't seem to come together very easily so I'm anxious to see if you can make them work!

I don't mean for this to be a shamelesss bump of my thread, just wanted to let you all know that I did try out your bootie suggestions, with limited success. I may post them.... we'll see

And Beth Ann, I love the idea of wearing these with a chambray shirt. I don't have one, but I have been on the lookout for one, perhaps I'll move that a little higher on the wish list. Oh, and I'll also try it with slipper flats - I did just get some of those

I have these pants. You look great in them. I wear them with white ankle boots that have a black side gusset. In these pics I am wearing them with flats. In the second pic I found an even better shoe.

Oh, they do look good with flats, thanks karymk. I'd love to see the white ankle boots too.

It's your fault I have these, you know. When I was looking for some for you, when you were having trouble getting your size, I kinda fell in love with them :).

Love love love the pants. They seem to be universally flattering. You make me want to pick up a pair for myself. I like how you've let the pants be the star but brought in the touches if red. Lovely!
