WIW 13 04 18,19 pushing my comfort zone a titch

On Thursday and Friday last week I decided it was time to push myslef a little. I know this isn't earth shattering to most of you, but it required pushing my comfort level a bit.

#1 First time out with booties and nude hose. I tried to bookend the booties with turquioise jewellery, which might not show up well in the photo. I had a lightbulb moment this morning that maybe I should have worn a turpquoise tee or tank instead? What do you think?

#2. Orange! First time out with the teacup shirt. I almost took it off about three times, it felt so... orange. Didn't help when my 9 year old, who loves bold colours, asked "are you going to wear that teacup shirt" with a turned up nose :). We both felt it was better with the white sweater. For now. Baby steps!

Those booties look great! I would suggest either a bolder necklace, a turquoise tank, or a scarf that has some of the bootie color in it. Just to balance out the colorful booties a bit more.

I love the way the orange collar of the teacup shirt brings attention to your face. You wear orange well!

I really like #1! The minimalist in me wants to remove the necklace and allow the booties to do the talking. I like Janet's idea of a scarf too.

I'm glad the teacup shirt made it out of the house! I'd prefer to see another style of topper if you don't want to wear it on its own just yet. How about a jacket of sorts?

Thanks Janet and Angie. I wish I had a scarf that would work, it's one of the things I'm on the lookout for. And Angie, I do have a jacket that could be perfect... just need to do the K/R post on it.

Those turquoise booties are gorgeous on you! Love them with the dress. I actually think it works well as is, but can also see a turquoise tank or scarf if you prefer. I think your necklace probably picked up the colour more IRL than shows in the photos. Photos can be poor at showing the details.

And good for you for wearing the orange shirt. I know it can be tough to break out of the old comfort zone. Especially with bold colour. And with kids and their opinions!!

Don't worry. Your family will soon catch on.

What Angie said. The tea cup shirt is no way too much color. Let it fly ;> Love the dress and turquoise booties. Simple and strong color blocks going on there. I don't mind the white tank at all. Turquoise would just be another option in my mind.
