Thanks everyone. I think you confirmed what I knew in my gut... that white sweater does nothing for me. A friend gave it to me, so nothing lost. I was pretty happy to get it because I had a very similar one in beige that I was realizing was a terrible colour on me, so we traded :). It's hard to get good white winter sweaters, so I thought this would fit the bill. I'll keep it, but for around the house wear I think.
Beth Ann (and my apologies, I think I've thrown an "e" on that a few times) I'm not totally happy, no. I feel like I can look good, but I don't necessarily have the look I want to have. And I just don't know what that is, or how to make the difference. I've played it "safe" for so long, I feel boring a lot of the time.
And re the dresses - I loved it., will wait for a good sale and likely get one. I am concerned the tie will bother me, but I'm thinking it fit so well I'll just find another one later if I need a no tie option. The current version has 3/4 length sleeves, which I think will add to its versatility - can wear a long sleeved tee under, and will go further into spring. But is it another "safe" piece???
