I love this. Off to find a way to recreate this without owning a single piece.

I guess it's not exactly a shrunken blazer, but it's working for me!!

I loved thirtysomething! Though when I tried to watch it again fairly recently, they all just seemed whiny to me.

Oh I love me some cobalt and I think you've made that jacket looks fresh and fab. Please tell the 80's that they can't have your jacket back because you are rockin it.

Killer to the power of Killer

(You had me at the '80s).

And look at how flattering the length of those cropped pants are after a little alteration. WOW. This is Cropped Pants Chic. xo

Heh, so funny - did we all have a cobalt big shouldered item in the 80's?? Mine was super early 90's but same difference. Love the pants with it. Best ankle pant look I've seen yet! Catalog, blog, YLF, wherever.

MaryK! Love this so much!

First, soooo glad to hear that I wasn't the only person who though, shoulder pads? Naaaah, those aren't full on '80s shoulder pads. Much too small.

I think you look very modern and beautiful. And the fact that you topped it off with your lovely quilted clutch? How perfect!

Yeah, I did cobalt and big shoulders in the 80s in a big way! Plus the poofy hair -- my hair was made for those styles.

But I think this looks fab. Modern and not stuck in the past whatsoever.

I love those pants everytime I see them on you. Your cobalt is perfect with this. I just bought cobalt suede pointy pumps! I loved 30 something too...

I had a black and white window pane jacket with huge shoulder pads in the 80's. I like your jacket look better than the pin-spiration.

Thanks so much, ladies!

Angie, I knew the "eighties" in the thread title would get your attention! Glad you approve!! And you have totally won me over to Team If You're Gonna Show Your Ankles, Show Your Ankles!

Brilliant all round, Mary. You just made Queen Pedantic About Lengths very happy.

Gorgeous! Those pants are fabulous, and so is the blazer!

I LOVE that blazer. Is it 80s, is it fashion forward, who cares? You look fantastic!

I'm out of words. What Anna said! Please never take it off.

As Shevia - and so many others - said: you look great! Who cares if it is 80s or 00s?! The outfit definitely works.

I love how you have turned the look upside down! And gorgeous shoes!

Tragically hip...just in case you were looking for an 80's reference to your outfit. Reminds me of Duckie from "Pretty in Pink", whom I thought had the best style aesthetic ever(Molly Ringwald was a close second)!

Oh my word...you look incredible MaryK! This is shoulder pads at their best and the color combination is positively delicious. One of your very best!

Eeee! Your picture made me smile. I am loving your power pose to match the power blazer. You look fantastic. Those shoes! Love.

You look amazing, MaryK! Love the pants and the shoes!

Wow, this is the kind of outfit I admire but could never even imagine for myself, let alone wear. I love every piece, and the attitude of the wearer I love even more. I hope someday I'll take a leaf or two out of your book , MaryK
