WIW 12/6 and 12/7: Stripes for party and office

1. Last night was our Rotary Club's annual holiday party and I was really happy to have snagged this sequin pencil skirt from Anthropologie! So fun! My old beloved Kate Spade rainbow-stripe heels were perfect with it!

2. Today I am continuing the theme with a cashmere sweater I bought online from Pure Collection at the end of lat winter, along with last year's Halogen ankle pants, an ancient but beloved Olivia Moon jacket, new-this-year shoes and Kate Spade tote from Black Friday. Honestly the bag is a little bigger than I expected, and it was non-returnable, so I am making do. Do you all think it's too big? Still rocking the pompoms in any case...

You look so sunny and bright. Even your cozy winter white sweater looks like you’re on a snowy mountaintop on a clear skies day, with light bouncing off the snow. I love the second look too.
Is your bag too big? It’s smaller than the purple one, isn’t it? I always think your purses are huge and wonder what you’re carrying in them—your puppy, piles of homework, a change of clothes so you could run away for the weekend on a whim? Please take this in the playful spirit it’s intended.

Haha, it's actually bigger than the purple one, and bigger than pretty much all my other ones! I like carrying a big purse, though. If I had a puppy I could totally fit it in there! Sometimes I do stick a sweater or jacket in my purse. Today I have a Trader Joe's Reduced Guilt Macaroni and Cheese and an apple in there for lunch. And I often have my water bottle.

It IS a big bag, compared to your figure. On the other hand, the big bag may make you look smaller/slimmer (an old trick used by some pregnant women ). And if you NEED a big bag, why not?

Now I’m impressed. Even with all the things I carry in my purse, it wouldn’t have occurred to me to put my lunch in it!

Oh, Mary, I am completely in love with that sequined skirt, it is sublime. You look gorgeous. The other outfit is fab too, but I just can't stop looking at the first one.

Not too big at all, it's fantastic. Of course I am biased since I am the self-proclaimed queen of oversized handbags, but I think it is the perfect size.

If you have the muscles to carry that bag, go for it! If anyone says anything, you can impress them by saying that you are working on defining your (insert muscle group of choice here).

Number 1 is to die for!!!!!!!! I am actually breathless. And the heels with the skirt are beyond perfect. You get a 15 out of 10.

I like both outfits very much! Nr 2 is my favourite because I love great combos involving a blazer. You do such a good job, I have only been a member for a couple of weeks but I trully enjoy all the outfits you have put together which I have seen.

As for the bag, I do not think it is too big at all. It is perfectly fine for a daytime, professional look. I also use some huge handbags and carry a lot of stuff in them - note book, generously sized make-up bag, chargers, phones, snacks and water, headphones, etc. etc. - very practical
