WIW 12/29: Double plaid for a matinee (thanks, Diana!)

I was so tickled by Diana's double plaid outfit for Christmas Eve that I couldn't wait to copy it! I am going to see "Peter and the Starcatcher" today so it seemed like the perfect occasion. I totally get that this will not be everybody's cup of tea, but it makes me smile.

Windowpane plaid pants: Banana Republic
Charcoal sweatshirt: American Apparel
Plaid scarf: souvenir of Cambodia
Black booties: Via Spiga
Red satchel: Banana Republic

It's so warm today that I don't need a jacket of any kind -- how crazy is that, the weekend before New Year's? Thanks for looking and commenting, and I hope you all are having a lovely last weekend of 2013!

(Edited to change the drape of the scarf after taking another look at the fab inspiration outfit!)

This is so fashionable and creative. You look tall and long-legged in this outfit, which is somewhat logic-defying given the cropped pants and high contrast footwear and top. Breaking the rules and pulling it off!

I think the combo is a perfect choice for the season and the activity. The open pattern of the pants makes them very blendable, I think!

I didn't put up a comment on some other WIW you posted, but want to let you know the full black and red skirt and the black and red dress were fantastic. I love red, and you do it justice! Festive without shouting 'Christmas' but also worth a repeat at another time.

Also, the curly hair for the Nutcracker was a sweet look.

You look wonderful, MaryK! My first reaction was exactly as CoCoLion said too. "HOW does she DO that?" Ankle pants, two plaids, dark booties with blond hair...and it's leg-lengthening and hugely flattering?!! Seriously awesome.
