Here is the outfit I wore to work on Friday, inspired by the Ensemble Post that day. In the future, I am going to try to at least post this outfit regularly, if nothing else.
I failed to take the photo on Friday and recreated the outfit today, with one difference: I wore textured black hose in zig-zag pattern on Friday, but wore simple black sheers today for the photos, as the textured hose is in the laundry. The outfit is inspired by the left outfit in the blog post, with burgundy and tweed skirt. My version uses cool instead of warm neutrals.
I have combined ancient black cashmere turtleneck and tweed skirt with sequined lace trim, with black textured hose, grey Zinda boots, burgundy suede moto, burgundy faux-fur coat, and then silver watch, silver bag, grey studded beret and grey/burgundy alpaca scarf.
I was pretty pleased with the outfit minus two minor facts: I wish the hardware on the suede jacket was silver and not good, and I know tht shorter faux fur coat would look better with a skirt, but I hope that this is close enough.
Fun fact: my turtleneck and skirt are ~14 years old, both by Express which at that time was making decent quality clothes. The turtleneck is cashmere, and the skirt wool blend. Neither of them are worn that often, perhaps 2-3 times a year for the skirt and 5 times for the turtleneck (which is suited specifically for wearing with skirts). Still, that makes it at least 30 wears for the skirt and 60 for the turtleneck, which is pretty good and the items have held up very well, which is not the case anymore these days with many manufacturers.
