WIW 1/16: Pinterest copycat (and ballet flats save the PPL day!)

I was so bummed the other day when Angie pointed out that my favorite black dress pants were in pretty flagrant violation of PPL (perfect pants length). I really wanted to wear them today for this Pinterest copycat look, but I couldn't un-see the length problem!

Fortunately my black ballet flats jumped out of the closet and saved the day! Yay!!

And may I just say that I had despaired of ever finding a white button-front shirt that didn't gap or make me feel like a stuffed sausage, but this one has a nice poet-y cut and I just love it! It pays to be patient and picky!!

And because it's me, I had to replace the black clutch in the inspiration pic for a nice cobalt clutch!

Love this inspiration and the result. You look good. Love the touch of cobalt. Btw In the playground yesterday on the school run I counted 5 mums with panstsat least 2 inches too short; I could have wept!

Firstly: I'm so glad to know that others struggle to achieve PPL. I'm 5'6" and lazy about hems, since I'm used to them being close to OK most of the time. BTW -- your hems are much cleaner than the ones in the inspiration pic. My mom would make me "rip it out" and start over -- with a good pressing, to boot! Wish I had her long legs, though!

Secondly: I'm also hunting for the perfect white shirt, and I'm encouraged to see others "seek and find."

I'm wearing cobalt pants today. I bought them to bring a little zing to all my winter black. Need the clutch!
