WIW 11/24: Leather, white and blue!

I saw a photo of Kristin Cavallari rocking white jeans and a sleeveless black leather top and thought I'd try it because I actually have the appropriate pieces. Today it was really warm so I thought it would be a good day to bust it out for the hair salon and a movie date with Mr. K. Turns out I didn't feel all that fab with just the top and jeans -- the top felt too short and too bare and a little mutton-dressed-as-lamb-ish. But when I added the blue denim jacket I felt fab!!

I see what you mean about being a smidge too short. I think the denim jacket was a brilliant solution.

Such a cool look once again. Loving the bag. I had no idea high-heeled loafers existed either, and they're great! MaryK, sleeveless is a tough look to pull off on women of any, and not just a certain, age. That said, your arms are in enviable shape, but you must go for whatever makes you feel fabbest!

Love it with the jacket. I don't think it is an age thing, the shirt might just be a bit short for the jeans look without the jacket.

Since the top length is the issue, I'd love to see an outfit pairing this top with a skirt.

in the inspiration pix, the top is blousy, while tour peplum top is more fitted/structured, so. think it reads differently...less casual. putting the jean jacket brings down the formality a notch to match the white denim. perfect solution. if the top had been looser, it would have been fine without the topper.

You wear those white skinnies beautifully MaryK - and I like the peplum top with them but agree it's a smidge short in that pairing. But in true MaryK style, you solved that problem perfectly with the jacket over top.I see no evidence of MDL - just a fabulous looking lady!

Yes, without the jacket the top looks just a tad too short. Also, in the inspiration photo her top was blousy and reads as a more casual look. Your solution of wearing the denim jacket was great - it dresses it down just enough and looks very stylish.
And, MaryK, no matter what you wear, you could never look like MDAL!
