WIW 11/2: Olive and leopard and pearls, oh my!

I can't get enough of olive pants with leopard for casual wear! Today I added my denim shirt from the boys' department. The colorblock bag is for a little structure, and the pile of pearls is to help the white part of the bag make sense. I wore this to brunch with a friend this morning and felt pretty good, if a bit fashiony!

Olive cargoes: GAP
Denim shirt: Target
Leopard cardi: JC Penney
Distressed/studded white belt: Streets Ahead
Espresso booties: Bronx
Colorblock bag: Vince Camuto
Pearls: J Crew via eBay

What do you think? Am I getting stuck in a casual rut? Am I looking too stereotypically "a woman of a certain age trying to be fashionable?: Or does it work?

Hard to call this a rut, MaryK. I think you have to first look, you know, bad. Certainly not effortlessly awesome!!

I like how the bag plays with the cardi. It is a nice combo. Not feeling the slouchy pants this year though. I'd probably do skinnies and untuck the blouse.

MaryK, just want to let you know I always look forward to your posts! When I first saw you wear your leopard cardi with denim, I went out & bought one! (And you inspired me to get a leopard belt & leopard flats too!) And if you hadn't posted about olive & leopard, this great combo wouldn't have occurred to me. Seeing all of your beautiful color & pattern combinations is helping me get out of my ruts. So, thank-you very much!

Another great casual outfit!
No rut, as far as I'm concerned. You look as good in your casual outfits as you do in your business bombshell outfits, which is saying a lot!

This looks great! If you're stuck in a rut, I want to be in the same rut! I also worry about the "woman of a certain age" thing, but I say forget about that, you look fabulous!

I just see a fab and sassy lady! I don't think the pearls are necessary to balance the white in the purse, though they look good

Love those slouchies! Love the outfit as is --- very lady meets tomboy. These pants would also look fab with a pullover sweater or a jacket to top, too.

Age? Not a problem, particularly in SoCal. Women aren't expected to retire their fashion sense in LaLa Land! You just look like your having fun with a friend on your day off.

Mary, you are one of the people here on YLF who has given me some great lessons on mixing neutrals, and this outfit is a great example. I love it.
