WIW 1/12: Boots and boyfriends

Today is an errand day and my boyfriend jeans were calling to me. I decided to tuck them in to my old favorite cowboy boots. I kind of like it -- what do you all think?

Jeans: GAP
Citron sweater: Ellen Tracy
Leopard scarf: Target
"Python" satchel: Elliott Lucca
Gray cowboy boots: Dan Post ca. 1983

I'm experimenting with leaving my sleeves long, a la Angie's recent blog post, and I have to admit it feels fun and modern for a change. We'll see if I make it through the day without scrunching!

I really like the way the boots go with the sweater, and the scarf bookends the boots perfectly. I am surprised that I like the way the bf jeans tuck into the boots, I think it works because the boot openings are wider.

I like it from the knees up. I just don't quite like the look of baggy jeans stuffed into boots. It reminds me of when I was kid shoving jeans into snow boots.

Oh wow, how fun - I have been meaning to try BF jeans with boots like this, but I feel there is a secret to making it look right somehow. Do tell!

Una, I have no secret. I'm just lurching around in the dark hoping I get lucky! But in this case the jeans are fairly slim and the boots are pretty wide.

Interesting idea, to tuck a baggy jean into cowboy boots. I've only tried skinnies with cowboy boots. I'll have to try this.

How fun! I think the citron gives the outfit the requisite modern flair, the scarf is the glue and pop, and the cowboys with BFs add a relaxed vibe.
