WIW 11/19: New jacket, homage to Zapotee

Zapotee snapped up a fab tweed jacket at Club Monaco during Shoptoberfest, and when I saw this beauty (see the faux leather trim? and you can't see from the photo, but it's a little sparkly!) on deep discount at Banana Republic I had to have it in honor of my East Coast YLF sistah! And today is Day Two of The Ankle Pants Are Okay For Work Era!

After buying a whole new wardrobe from scratch over the past couple of years, this year I am enjoying having some pieces that have been hanging around for a while like the "bee" blouse, and seeing how they look fresh when combined with new pieces!

This is gorgeous, Mary! Love the ankle pants on you with the fab Seychelles, and that jacket is sparkilific fab. Is it soft or crispy in texture? I.e. sweater like or more stiff?

This jacket is definitely jackety/crispy rather than sweatery. And it's fully lined and really nicely constructed. Best part, as I said in my "fall purchases" thread, it was originally $150 and I snapped it up for $41.99 on sale last weekend.

Squee! It looks looks amazing with the ankle pants. Very modern and fresh. This a fun new silhouette for you Mary. The jacket with a pencil skirt would have looked more traditional. I also like the way your ankle pants show off those fab shoes!

Yes, it is! And they say it's "black/white" on the web page, but I swear the fabric is navy/white and the faux leather trim is black.

Angie, when I got dressed this morning I knew you were going to say that about the length! I actually wouldn't mind having them shorter... it's just a matter of getting my act together to get them to the tailor. And I didn't want to wait to debut this outfit! But I will get 'em shortened, because I agree a tiny bit more ankle would be nice!

BTW, funny story: I was in the post office today mailing my secret santa package (and yes, I'm a day late!), and a lady yelled at me because she thought I was trying to cut in line. When I explained that the lady at the window had told me to fill out the customs forms and come right back to the window, the lady said, "Oh, sorry. And by the way, your shoes are gorgeous!"
