WIW 11/1: Navy stripes, olive, and leopard! ETA tucked shirt

I swear, this is my favorite combo for casual wear, and I'm so happy we're finally getting a taste of fall weather so I can take it out of the house!

Navy striped sweater: H&M
Blue oxford shirt: Target (boys' dept)
Dark olive pants: Current Elliott
Cognac boots: Aldo
Leopard bag: Brahmin
Arm party: various
Shades: Guess via consignment

I wonder, though -- is this sweater too short to layer over a button-front shirt? It kind of looks like a Whole Lotta Shirt Tail. What do you think?

ETA: How about tucking the shirt and doing Angie's faux-semi-tuck on the sweater? Better?

I like this much shirttail, actually - I think too little looks like you thought it wouldn't show and just screwed up. Was wondering where the leopard would come in. Such a fab MaryK creation!

Amount of shirt tail is just right, IMO. I agree with Una. The faux tuck is superb too. The navy / cognac combo is one of my faves.

Have to you tell you: This is a very disciplined look. My untamed rebel nature makes me want to run up and throw one more leopard print piece on you. A scarf, a coat...

Both look good, but I much prefer #1 when the button-up shirt is layered underneath; the semi-tuck usually doesn't drape quite as nicely with the thicker lower layer BUT the extra dose of leo is pretty dang fun. I LOVE the long shirt tail, and you would find me in #1 because, well, you know that we have the same casual closet :}

I actually prefer #1 with its shirttail look. This is such a great casual look, MK. I would wear this in a heartbeat.

Okay, you all convinced me and I untucked again before I left the house!

Carole, these are knee-high boots from last year's NAS. I love them because they have oxford detailing and laces on the arch. Big fun!

I like both versions a lot but prefer #1. For some reason I find it more figure flattering as well as more spunky. The proportions just look right to me.

Your casual is what I call smart casual. Or is smart casual something else? Maybe I need to up my game!

I love the version with the shirttail hanging out. The exaggerated shirttail is very trendy now. I have seen much more exaggerated versions than yours even. But yours is perfect, I think the very exaggerated proportions don't work as well on us smaller ladies.
