WIW 10/6: Navy and gray and Pinktober at the gym

1. It's still stinkin' hot here so the linen pieces are still in heavy rotation!

2. Can't resist sharing my Breast Cancer Awareness Month outfit from this afternoon's workout with Trainer Dave! He gave it a big thumbs up!

3. House report: The reason I bought this house is so I could take out the wall in the third bedroom (which I will be using as a den/TV room) and put in the sliding glass door. This shot is from the living room, all the way through the house to the back yard. You can't see it all that well but maybe you can get an idea. (That's the screen for the glass slider leaning up against the hallway wall! LOL)

4. Speaking of the den, the drywall is going up and it won't be long before the big TV is on the new wall, which was bumped out so we could put in the new closet in the adjoining master bedroom.

5. The patch on the other wall is where there used to be a closet in the den. We just closed it up here and moved the doors to the other side of the wall to the laundry room adjoining the kitchen, where it will become my new pantry! I not only boss my clothes around, I boss my house around! LOL (The new closet in that room will be next to the bumped-out wall.) Big fun!!!

I like washer on the back deck! What are you going to put in the spaces either side of the bumped out wall, esp that space of the left as you look at it?

Nebraskim, that's actually the old range! It's being picked up by Habitat for Humanity on Thursday!

The bumped-out wall will have closet on the left (because per the rules of real estate a bedroom has to have a closet, however small, and I certainly have no intention of turning my 3-bedroom house into a 2-bedroom house!) and on the left it will be a closed cabinet on the bottom (for the audio/video equipment) with open shelves above. It'll all go all the way to the ceiling and be trimmed out nicely with crown molding. The space over the bump-out will be an open display space with lights for tchotchke display.

Doubleh, I am super excited about the floors! I got a peek before they were covered up, and they are gorgeous!

Mary, your house is really coming along nicely. I love the sight line from front to back and the huge window will add natural light to the space. I am loving the house transformation but what a project. It is a good thing you have a great design/contract team.

1. The navy and grey linen are a fresh combination, with the white bag adding to the freshness like a punch of color. Citron or mint would be other colors to try with the navy/ grey.
You have done an amazing job of planning for your house. It will have lots of light. Thank you for sharing the process.

I think you're doing a super job of looking quite autumnal while still needing some of your more summery pieces (long linen is super for that). Totally love the addition of gray to the more classic navy+cream/white, moody yet light. Go house! It's really coming along fabulously. Can't wait to come visit :}

I love the outfit, Mary. It's a bit of a change, seeing you in this subdued color palette, and I like it just as well as your bright colors. I like Joy's suggestion of a mint or citron bag, for a different take, too.

Your gym photo is a riot--hamming it up for the camera. And now I see how you stay in shape!

Managing your home renovation is practically a second job, isn't it? Major work there, and looks like it's all coming along so well.
