WIW 10/5 and 10/6: Party Animal and Church Lady

1/2. Last night I went to a birthday party and decided to try out a chambray/stripes Pinterest look I pinned a while back. I was pretty happy with how it turned out.

Striped midi: Vince Camuto
Chambray shirt: Halogen
Studded belt: Target
Black bag: Cole Haan
Black sandal booties: Payless

3. Yesterday after the hair salon I stopped by the consignment store and snapped up this knit dress for $13.50! I wore it to teach Sunday School today and felt good, if a bit more dressed up than most of the crowd. The 4th and 5th grade girls kept sidling up to me and whispering "I love your high heels," which was fun. And a lady in the supermarket checkout line after church complimented the shoes, too!

Suggestions for improvement? Um...is that even possible? I don't think so. I love your version of the stripes and chambray better than the original. And no wonder you got compliments on the footwear in #2. It is sooooo pretty!!

Both fab outfits MaryK. Ofcourse the little girls will think you are very glamorous and want to be like you When I was doing class room help last year at my son's school, instead of doing their reading with me, the girls would ask my lipstick and nailpolish (9 year olds) ... it's adorable.

Both these outfits highlight the importance of the right footwear IMHO. The heels in #2 totally elevate the overall look.

Wow, you sure look put-together! Wonderful. I love that stripy skirt. And yes, those t-strap heels are fantastic! I'm impressed that you make them work for daytime wear. I have a similar pair but have so far only worn them for very special evenings. (I don't think I'm as good at charging around in high heels as you are...).

Agreed, both looks are great, but especially love the striped skirt and the belted shirt with it. Its inspiring to see the result of attempting to copy something from Pinterest. I'm always too afraid to even attempt it and I think it'll never look the same... thanks for the lesson!
