WIW 10/23: Red, black and leopard

I don't feel like this is a very inspired outfit, but I am happy that it's finally cool enough to debut the red seamed skirt from the NAS!

Leopard shirt: J Crew
Red pencil skirt: Halogen
Black jacket: Comptoir Des Cotonniers
Black pumps: Madden Girl
Colorblock tote: Vince Camuto
Red reptile belt: thrifted

Any comments or suggestions will be gratefully appreciated!

Fabuous! Black red and leopard look amazing together, and I bet it looks jus as spectacular without the jacket. The only thing I could say is maybe a black belt? But that is just to give an idea. It really ldoes look lovely as is!

Mary, do your belts shift around all day with no belt loops? If not, how do you get them to stay? Fab ensemble!

Liz, somehow my belts manage to behave themselves even without loops. This new model seamed skirt, in particular, has a flat waistband that seems like a good stage for a belt. I do cinch 'em up pretty snug. Also I have a desk job and don't move around a lot during the work day -- YMMV. You could also try putting some fashion tape on the inside of the belt to stick it to your clothing and see if that helps.

I got that same skirt at NAS this year and I love it. I may have to invest in some sort of animal print blouse so I can be a shameless copy cat. Your ability to mix simple, almost basic, items to create interesting looks is simply unparalleled.

I love it! I also like the new version of the Halogen skirts better than the old ones The facing in the old version used to ride up on me. The waistband keeps things neat and tidy.

Well it's inspiring me! When I read your title I was hoping your Leopard of the Day would be this J. Crew perfect shirt! Yay! This would be a great outfit even with out that fantastic "sock it to me" bag, but with it? Incredible. Love, love LOVE!

I beg to differ! I love this outfit! It's sleek, elegant, but still exudes energy and verve. The shirt and bag are perfect together. Actually, the whole combo of red, black, leopard, and color blocking is perfect together.

Another gorgeous look for you, Mary. Red, black and leopard are definitely a favorite, as is almost anything with red and leopard. The black gives it all more drama than grey or brown would. Love the pop of white with this.
