WIW 10/17: Denim and houndstooth and my fave shoes

I am on overnight call this week so I don't have to go in to the office during the day. Therefore, I have a very full week of lunch dates and various daytime appointments!

Today I am wearing some favorites from last year -- my houndstooth tuxedo-stripe pants and my beloved Doc Sara oxfords. It's a little warm for a topper but I felt like the white shirt was a little plain on its own so I added my trusty denim jacket and am ready for lunch downtown with an old friend!

Houndstooth pants: Vince Camuto
White shirt: Kirkland (yep, Costco!)
Heeled oxfords: Doc Marten
Denim jacket: Levi's
White satchel: Banana Republic

I have a date for drinks with the girls later and I think this look will be fine for day-into-casual-early-evening What do you think?

Nice! Does night call mean you go in or just have to be available? It is exhausting.

NIght call means I have a work cell phone and take phone calls as needed for things that come up outside of normal business hours. It's all handled by phone. I don't have to go in because the theory is that I'm up all night so I am resting during the day. Generally it's an average of one every hour or so, but for the last two nights I actually got to sleep all the way from about 1 a.m. to 7 or 8 a.m. That has never happened in 8 years of doing this kind of duty!!

I love the Doc Sara's, and the whole outfit! I pair a white shirt and denim jacket often - it's a great combo for all the day's (and evening's) adventures.
