I saw this striped-dress-and-peacoat on a mannequin at an insanely chic and wildly expensive boutique in Seattle, to which Anna took us on our Sunday shopping jaunt. I thought I'd try to reproduce it with my Bailey 44 striped dress.

Tried it this morning, and the following problems arose:

1. It's supposed to be 90* here today, so too hot for an "outerwear" peacoat
2. Tried to substitute a navy blazer and a black ponte moto jacket and it looked awful
3. I don't have a cool patterned bag like the one in the original

Ended up going Full White-After-Labor-Day, and am not terribly unhappy with the result for lunch and a play with my Marine. What do you all think?

Dress: Bailey 44
White blazer: Olivia Moon
White pumps: Bandolino
Colorblock tote: Steve Madden

House report: Last time the Marine came to visit, he had to sleep in a room with no walls! This time: Walls! Progress!!
