WIW 10/10: Stripes over cheetah

I had to really fight for this outfit this morning... tried on two skirts, two jackets, and three pair of shoes before I was happy with the result!

Striped sweater: J Crew
Cheetah knit skirt: Nic + Zoe
Ponte knit moto jacket: T Tahari
Black patent pumps: Jessica Simpson
"Python" bag: Elliott Lucca
Pendant: Etsy

Do you think it was worth the struggle? These pieces are all at least a year old and the jacket is three years old -- do I look reasonably current? Thanks for your thoughts!

Do you have mint pumps? Matching that line of mint/turquoise in the sweater would be fun.

I really like how the camel in the sweater ties in with the skirt.

I love the first pic. The stripes and leopard are great color and pattern mixings.

The jacket ....... I am not very sure of. Might have been better worn open?

You may have had to fight for it, but I think you triumphed! I think the combination of stripes and animal print keeps this fresh. I see both patterns throughout the stores.

Ceit, I was wishing as hard as I could, but alas! No mint pumps magically appeared in the closet this morning!

Neel, the jacket IS open! LOL Hard to see in the photo because of the black stripe on the sweater at mid-chest.

It's a moto jacket, so when it's open it likes to hang wide open at the bottom and much closer together at the top. That's just the nature of the style, I think.

I think you've pulled it together perfectly! I love this combination, and somehow, I think it has managed to remain current - each piece on it's own is quite classic, so when they come together, they work well!

Hmm .... do you think a black blazer with the elongated v-neckline effect might have been better? Just thinking aloud .... not sure.

I can't believe you don't have mint pumps. Wardrobe hole? I really like #1. I'm not crazy about the jacket but realize it may just be how it looks in the picture. Do you have a more structured blazer that would work?

It's so funny that the moto jacket is getting so much non-love. It is one of my favorites and I happen to love it as a fun alternative to a blazer. I realize that most of my outfits, including this one, look better without the jacket, but I feel like a jacket is a must for work. Maybe the day of the daytime moto jacket is nearing its end...

Oops... can't edit from work so sorry for serial posting. I think the problem with the photo is you can't see the zipper detail and the pockets that give it structure and make the shape make sense!

Perfect !!!!!!! I love this look, I've had a cheetah skirt on my wish list for a few weeks now after seeing one of your previous posts, love the moto and how you have mixed neutrals together.

When I read the description I wasn't sure if I would like it, but I so do. It is awesome - perfect pattern mixing.

I love how the skirt and sweater reflect the colors back to each other. This outfit is definitely happening.

I also have misgivings about the jacket. They're not severe; the jacket just looks rather heavy (in color) for this look.
